Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Jeff Goodman can f*** off. He’s been bashing our schedule all year besides the fact that we are in the middle of what will be an absolute murderer’s row for several weeks. Maybe Barnes is just wise to get a couple of cupcakes under the belt for his extremely NEW team to allow the chemistry to develop. Not to mentioned we literally already played Duke in an exhibition also. This guy is a dolt.

You got me. I'm a closet Vanderbilt fan and I'm really good at acting. I'm an excellent thespian. I'm in here yesterday talking about Candace and Bruce making me emotional talking about Pat and how fresh that loss still is. Totally rooting for Pavia all over this board too. I haven't even sunk to insulting his height. That's how much respect I have for the guy. Heck I hope he plays another year. I figure his two idiot brothers will need bail money again at some point. Anchor Down.
you don’t have to convince us.

Please let us beat the brakes off Vandy and shut him up!! Timmy, you had better have your best defensive game plan prepared in your career for this one. I want less than 150 passing and negative rushing yards for Pavia that will shut the Heisman talk down abruptly!

How strange is it that we've played a full slate of conference games and the only "like" opponents we share with Vandy are Bama and Kentucky? Darn near played opposite schedules.

Vs Bama = final score about the same. Both on the road:

We had 410 yards of offense against Bama. Vandy had 333. We turned it over one time. Vandy 2. We had 27 first downs and Vandy only 16. We were called for 10 penalties and Vandy only 5.

Defensively we allowed 373 yards and Vandy allowed 486.

Vs Kentucky = they won by 28 and we won by 22. Vandy at home and we were on the road.

We had 504 yards of offense. Vandy had 604. We had zero turnovers. Vandy had 1. We were called for 6 penalties and Vandy had 7. We had 24 first downs and Vandy had 29.

Defensively we allowed 476 yards and Vandy allowed 315.

Ultimately, we played a better game against Bama, and they had a better result against Kentucky. I think the spread is fair with us being at home.

This is the first time I truly believe we could have a National Championship Mens Basketball team... We got huge depth in the low post a shutdown defender on the perimeter and not one but two closers in crunch time...

Last two seasons I couldn't say that but we still made it to the EE...

Great game yesterday. Happy Wednesday.

This one got me thinking about SAS.

November 26, 2025: You will be inclined to dwell on who and what you have lost, and the anguish you have endured. But, touch those things lightly before you rejoice in the Lord and His mercy and goodness. Psalm 136:1-4 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Oh, give thanks to the God of gods! For His mercy endures forever. Oh, give thanks to the Lord of lords! For His mercy endures forever. To Him who alone does great wonders, for His mercy endures forever.

I agree. This team can be scary good by March. The depth on the bench is amazing. That means less minutes for the starters and being fresher down the stretch. We have a rotation of enforcers and shot blockers in the paint that can score. That's a luxury we have not seen at all. Still playing sound D, just not overkilling it to the exclusion of scoring. Hope that continues and they just get used to playing together selflessly as a unit.
