The Official #17 vs. #3 Houston Game Thread, 6:00 PM ET, TNT

Why is everybody concerned with winning this weird “tournament”…?

Just come out of this trip undefeated and get ready for the tough stretch we have coming up before conference play.
If I’m not mistaken, the winning team gets to split $2 million.(Not sure how that works but I heard the pregame guys talking about it.) Everyone else gets nada. Would be nice for the guys to get a shot at that especially when they’ll have the best win in the tournament. If I misunderstood that, somebody please correct me.

Exactly crap bracket.. why they can’t do two semi final type games then a final is crazy
I get what you’re saying, but it’s not that kind of event. There is major NIL $$ at stake so everyone wants to participate. This thing goes to 32 teams next year and the top four have to be flushed out in 3 days.

I think we still get something but not the 2 mill

The winner of this event gets a $2 million boost in recruiting their 2026-27 roster.

As long as the NIL for the players is equal for the final 4, I'm good with playing whomever we do tomorrow. It's another opportunity for a quality win and going 3-0 with two high quality wins is a tournament win regardless of a trophy or not.

Sampson is on something about the fouls. They were fouling way more than they got called for, so us only shooting 29 free throws was a win for them. 8 of those 29 were them fouling on purpose in the final 35 seconds. They committed 21 total fouls, 17 before they started fouling to stop the clock. We were called for 15 total.

Zags up 15 in the 1st half. Looking like the Vols vs Kansas at 7 tomorrow.

I read it that every team in the tourny gets $1M in NIL contribution. Then the top 4 split up an additional $2M pot.
