Thoughts on Vanderbilt

That is your choice. Stay in the Athletics area and don't let your hate disparage one of the best medical systems in the US. If you choose not to use them, then don't, but stay on topic Jimbo and leave the Medical aspect to them.
As far as the fanbase is concerned, they are rotten to the corps. GA is just as bad, young and old. Alabama fans can be dumber than dirt. Vandy fans can be and are obnoxious as hell as they are always wishing on a star.
🤦‍♂️

@ Skooter stated his opinion regarding Vandy hospital based off his personal experiences with hospital - NOT Vandy athletics.

Of which he did not have to do so.
He brought it into the conversation and I agree it does not belong here as I offered the counter side of it.

Plenty of forums to vent his opinion of which his comment was more of a statement than an opinion.

The problem with msg boards is they go off the rails on some side of a tangent that has nothing to do with the game. I hate he has had two bad experiences with the Vanderbilt Medical, but we are in the Tennessee Football Forum not the Pub.

I agree with that their Fans are just as bad as he says they are because that is well known.

Fair enough. my bad. I can’t see the name without my BP going up…which they would probably diagnose as low blood pressure..
Sorry I couldn’t resist

I agree there are other forums to post such comments. But, his opinion was centered around Vandy fans while two sentences were around the hospital.

Anyway, it’s over. Not sure why I felt compelled to post - all is well.

Go Vols! Beat Vandy!

I understand that as well but it is because of the fans and not the Medical Facility in most cases.
I don't wear UT gear when visiting any Vanderbilt Medical facility. Just asking for an unpleasant conversation as I and most Vol fans don't like giving Vanderbilt fans a reality check.
Simple fact is that Vanderbilt are totally arrogant and have no clue.

I think of them like Will Overstreet said on Sports Source, when asked about Diego's loose lips. He stated "we'd shut him up" and try to put him out of the game. The host asked you don't mean dirty play, right? to which Will said "oh, no, no....but I may go high on him".

Around the 5:30 mark: watch

I am surprised some team has not went after their coach (at least make him say no or a big raise) . They have the #55 overall composite talent on 24/7 l and have beaten VT at #40, South Carolina at #18, LSU at #6, Missouri at #22, Auburn at #13, Kentucky at #27, and came close to Texas at #4. They have done more with less than anyone else in the country. I hope UT beats the brakes off of them Saturday, but their coaching results can not be overlooked. Heck if they had talent similar to with the for some reason highly sought after Kiffin at Ole Miss, I give 2:1 that Vandy would win.

The thing with Vanderbilt is containing Pavia. Our DEs need to be coached hard to ALWAYS key on Pavia and never take the RBs on zone reads. If he does hand the ball off, I suggest the DEs hit him anyway

Secondly, when he drops back to pass, assign a spy to him. Do those two things and we'll be OK

What kills teams playing them this year is when DEs let him get outside. I've seen it time and time again

Honestly, I think we match up well with them. I expect us to win
I agree, but the best way to stop Pavia is to keep him off of the field. I think we try to cram it down Vandy's throat and limit their possessions. Best picture I could see on Saturday is Pavia standing on the sideline.

This year's Vandy team reminds me of an old friend from years ago. Steve ran his mouth all the time. I mean, to the point he never saw the azz whipping that was headed his way. The only difference is I won't be there to help Vandy. I finally had to let Steve go be Steve alone. Just for the record, he ended up in prison.
That tends to happen when one lets their gorilla mouth overload their canary butt. Tends to lead to azz whoopins.

To boot, from 2 family experiences and many others I’ve connected with, their hospital is overrated. I wouldn’t send my dogs there.
I have not had excellent experiences there either, but that can be said about almost every hospital I’ve been in. I blame the corporate healthcare system and not the hospitals themselves.

Where are you guys even running into enough Vandy fans to form these strong feelings? I've lived in middle Tennessee for the past 20 years and I've rarely even seen anyone sporting Vandy gear, much less acting all high and mighty.

If I may, vanderbilt hospital nearly allowed my mil to die. They admitted her and just left her on a gurney in the hallway for 11 hours. The halls were lined with patients so it is likely they didn't have a room. No doctor, no anything. They never offered to transfer her to another hospital. My fil was enraged after about 3 hours but he never could get anyone to answer his questions. Once he finally got to the right person he was told they don't have a room available and that she was fine. She wasn't. At the 11 hour mark she was discharged. They went back to their local hospital where she was admitted to icu and 2 days later she was in hospice.

Maybe it was an isolated incident, maybe they just didn't care. Either way, they will have a very hard time earning my trust or respect back. There are other options besides vanderbilt. People are not healed on their reputation.

If you have been around long enough and watched them through the years. The hot air will soon leak out after this year. More people are wearing Vandy attire publicly.

Art Guepe1953-196239-54-7
John Green1963-19667-29-4
Bill Pace1967-197222-38-3

Woody Widenhofer1997-200115-40

Robbie Caldwell20102-10
James Franklin2011-201324-15
Derek Mason2014-202027-55
Clark Lea2021-Present16-33

Nothing to really brag about on that coaching tree. DiNardo did leave there to go to LSU and James Franklin went to PSU to save his career. Woody and Pace were solid coordinators. No matter who coaches them it is a rebuild job. Lea has done a decent job. Next year should be interesting. With every coaching hire the obnoxious behavior gets worse.

I went to professional school with several (60+ years ago) and never had a problem with any of them but for some reason my best friend from high school detested the "commode-adores". As for the game......I think it's gonna be a tough one.

I use to pull for Vandy when they weren't playing UT until I moved into the Nashville area. They are some of the vilest, nastiest and egotistical fans out there. A lot of their fans aren't even from Tennessee but their hatred (probably jealousy) for UT is out of this world. I hope they lose every game in every sport.
They’re idiots.

As long as I can remember Vandy was the doormat team in the SEC. An automatic W when you played them. . How did the fans get so cocky ? You think it was finally getting decent in college baseball and winning a NC ?
