Not trying to start an argument in anyway...I actually want to hear your reasoning as to why Vanderbilt is "clearly not" the better team. I am actually having trouble seeing how they are not better than us...at this point in time.

I want to feel better about this game...but I keep having visions of goofy crap like in the Okie and MSU game happening to the offense, and Pavia running for 100+ and 2tds while torching our secondary for 300+ and 3-4 tds against our defense.

When in doubt, I go to advanced stats for a reality check. Bill C uses SP+, which measures efficiency, explosiveness, and adjusts for pace, opponent quality, and garbage time. It’s purely mathematical, so he’s not moving teams around based on who is hot or who matches up best in some eye test. He has Vandy and Tennessee at 13th and 14th, respectively. Vandy is up 5 spots this week.

SP+ is hardly perfect, but it predicts a close game that Tennessee wins.

People don't seem to realize Clark Lea isnt a good coach. He made a good decision of hiring the NM St coach and Pavia. Those 2 things are really the only reason they're winning + their weak schedule.

If someone wants a coach from Vanderbilt, it should be the NM St coach. . .

They've played 2 decent teams and lost to both of them. They're about to play their 3rd, which is the 2nd best team they've played overall.

Tennessee is about to slap the collective taste out of their team's mouth.

Focus the D on Pavia. Carter and Telander need to light him up a few times and the scrambling and run option will end. Then the D line can T off on him.

Vandy is not going to stop this O. This one is personal, just like last week. JA knows the O now.

They need to come out with their hair on fire and keep it up for 60 minutes.

Crazy that he had 67 catches for 803 in '23. 34 for 381 in '24. . . and 5 for 52 this year.

All-purpose yards this season - 13 plays 111yds.

He should have went somewhere with a good QB...FSU was a really bad spot for him to go in every way except for what I guess is the one that matters to him...money.

One thing I noticed early in the UF game was that we ran more 3 LB sets than 5 DB sets on early downs. In general, I have noticed it more this year. In previous years, we wouldn’t see those formations until the red zone.

I don't like it either. It grates me. It's trying to be something and it tries too hard and isn't nearly clever enough. The melody is basic and I get that it's singable, but I just don't like it.

He also turned the ball over how many times? I love Alvin, but let's be honest about why we put up all that offense and lost. And I don't think only Alvin turned it over.

We lost that game because the defense was absolutely putrid that year thanks to so many injuries to the defense...I think we lost several defenders in that game alone.

That was the year with basically no strength program and the resulting injuries were catastrophic..especially on the defense.
