There’s no way Butch is #4 on their list. Maybe #44. All those HC’s at the FCS schools in Montana and the Dakotas would be a far better pick than Butch.

Butch Jones is more likely to get fired than get a better job than Arky St. Butch is 24-37 at Arky St and he's 5-6 this season. I don't know if it's possible to have a negative percent chance at something, but if there is, Butch would have a negative percent chance at coaching any team in the SEC ever again.

Arky is casting a wide net after losing out on Franklin. Jimbo Fisher and Golesh have been rumored a lot, but the Memphis coach is the most likely at this point.

Right now, LSU is a spoor show. The only candidate that should take that job is a G5 coach wanting to step up into P4.

It's almost like you don't know him at all. He doesn't give a damn what school it is.

He's a narcissist and all he cares about is being the highest paid coach in the land and all the attention that comes with that.

the difference is LSU is a crap show, that cares.
Florida is a crap show with an admin, that doesn't care.

LSU has the better roster, better NIL, and more recent success. Kelly got fired for not being in the championship hunt. Napier got fired for having to be in the hunt for bowl eligibility.

I wasn't implying a comparison.

Regarding Florida, I do not see it as being able to provide a stable environment in which to build a college football program at this time. I think they're going to have to settle for anyone they can hire after receiving static in reply to their expressed interest.

If/when LSU gets their sizzle in order, it should be an attractive place to coach. Right now? No...

I'm so hoping he turns LSU down..Such an arrogant bunch. They have an " entitled" attitude.
Trying to wiggle out of the Kelly contract while throwing 90 million dollars at Lane. Puke.
If he says no they'll probably turn to Orgeron. Coach O would probably be a flop.

You think they would hire Orgeron again after they already paid him to not coach anymore?

Lot's of click bait news keep pushing Kiffy as almost a given to LSU at this point.

Publically, the only things Kiffy has stated is he loves Oxford and that he fully intends to be coaching in the Egg Bowl.

So, what does LSU do 3-4-5 years from now, if they land Kiffin, and he hasn't brought home a trophy. And they made a mess out of this BK thing and all the money coming with it. Plus all the money they'd have in Kiffin, and they can't afford to piss on him too.

If I'm the AD, I just inform LK the games are over. Provide an answer by COB or clear desk out and vacate by Friday.

Within 12-24 months, CFB will have a P4 Commissioner, who will clean up the whole timeline on coaching changes, portal entries, signing dates, NIL guidelines, etc.

And my money is on Satan Saint Nick.

The NCAA is a eunuch and has been for a long time. Or like Will Rogers said, "All hat and no cattle."

But with the money being obscene and still growing, my money if on the P4 schools to take action to align, protect, and preserve their interests.

I'm wrong a lot, so just add this one to the pile if it doesn't play out that way.

Who the heck knows with them corn dogs. Probably not but he did for reside over the greatest season in college football history and brought them a championship. He wants to coach again and they seem open to bringing him back as a defensive coordinator with Lane, so look at it however you will.

I think Arkansas - Kane Wommack
PSU - Guy they got is the best they can do I think
Ole Miss - Kiffin
Florida - Sumrall but not confident
LSU - Drink

Surer about the first and get less confident the further along you get.

In a common sense world that would indeed be the solution.

A few problems though.

Would be tantamount to a firing. I do not know the language of Lanes current contract re:eek:ffset language. If that is not present, could end up costing OM a boatload. Would also result in a court case that would drag on forever. I'm sure the OM attorneys have reviewed the contract and think they are screwed.

Such actions would basically make you a pariah in terms of hiring your next coach. Guaranteeing you get the bottom of the barrel desperate coaches is not a solution either.

Face it, Lane currently has 3 schools over a barrel and Lane being Lane is enjoying the situation


Sooner or later, he is gonna end up with egg on his face though. He always does when you look at his history. I'm not so sure there will be a comeback for him after his next implosion.
