It makes sense with all of the places in the west for Memphis to join, but Arkansas and MS State recruit it heavily and probably don’t want Memphis in The SEC

Honestly? None of them.

The three community colleges I want no association with.

Vandy-if they started actually committing money then fine let them in

Otherwise use the spot for another school that is at least semi-serious about football.

My point is simple. The SEC is what it is. Tennessee may not want to be in the SEC if the SEC waited this long to be a conference. This is a brain buster of what if. What other conferences exist at the time of the newly formed SEC, The Southern, ACC, B1G, Southwest, Southeast?

The SEC conference will eventually go to 20 teams. Who is added is still a huge question. 4 teams added and none deleted. FL State, Clemson, UNC, Duke, Miami, GA Tech SMU are some of the possibilities before they even consider any in state schools.

The conference should concentrate on getting stronger vs weaker.

In todays' climate, just like in the football climate of ~100 years ago, you would want to look at what matters most to a conference.
Back then it was affiliations, opportunities for national advancement, and playing teams in your geographical region.
Today, let's face it, is KING CASH.

That said, if you were forced to take 2 teams from Tennessee to be in the SEC, it would still be UT and Vandy.
They both generate the most amount of revenue.

Yeah, if Georgia can have only one school, then we can too. UGA has benefitted greatly from GaTech opting out of the SEC years ago.

I hope not. I wish it would go back to 12 but that’s not happening. But it was better then I think
