The Atlanta Braves

Everyone talking about pass rushers in the draft.

I want Tate or Tyson. Hell Brazzell would be good too.
We need pass catchers or sure, but this isn't the draft to be spending a top 10 pick at WR. 2027 draft however will have Smith, Williams, Coleman, and several others. That is where having an extra first pick will come in handy (assuming we trade out of our top pick this year).

2nd round pick (or maybe trading back into the the late first round) is where we need to target a WR. Tate, Concepcion, maybe Brazzell.

*a decade

They’re not even close to being out of it.
All it takes is a couple of good drafts. Titans were ass before J-Rob showed up. He purged 80% of the previous roster by the end of year 1. And the Titans were a playoff team for 5 years after that.

The OL has a good base with Skronk and Latham and has actually been rated top 15 in pass protection by PFF. I think Cam is averaging around 2.75 seconds of protection per drop back, which is top 10. The issue is that his weapons are mostly ass outside of TE. Gunnar Helm has been pretty impressive as a rookie, with a 72.4 PFF ranking (11th overall) coming into yesterday. But the RB and WR groups are both probably the worst in the NFL.

Defensively, Simmons is great. Sweat is also good. Hooker remains solid but unspectacular. Cedric Gray is coming along very well as he is one of the best LBs in the game against the run and he's been at least average in pass coverage. Among the rookies, Kevin Winston and Marcus Harris have been impressive in recent weeks, but they need a lot more playing time to know what we really have in them.

In what way lol
About 30 million and 2 years better. And Nimmo has become a liability defensively, which is a problem when Soto is your other starting OFer. This move was more about getting rid of Nimmo's contract than anything else.

The xwOBA was virtually identical for each player for whatever that is worth.

Also, it should be noted that we literally saved a grand total of 4.25 million to go from Pierce Johnson to Joel Payamps.....

I would say liability, OAA had him at 0, so league average.

I still would rather have Nimmo than Semien. Semien is 35 and way less consistent.

More of a roster fit than anything else. I wouldn't want either player at their contracts.

Gillespie and Ament are DUDES man...you win titles with those guys
I think the Rutgers team they're playing is awful, but yes, those dudes can play.

I think the only thing that holds Ament back potentially is himself...he could stand to be a little more selfish. Maybe that's starting to come out of him though.

I love the interview he did with Mike Keith before the season started. He asked MK a bunch of questions about what he studied in school, how he got into broadcasting, and seemed genuinely interested. He had the disposition and conversational skills of a 50-year-old who had been doing it for decades.
