Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Glad we got the W in the Swamp, not real pleased with second half, but it feels good to beat a team that we should beat without having to sweat bullets while doing it.

Now on to Vandy and that loud mouthed QB they got. We need to pulverize that bunch and remind them who the A team in this state is!

While this year was a down year, Heupel didnt have his normal on the road let down against a worse team.

And its always good to beat the gators. No matter what their record is. Any time you can drain the swamp its good.

Only reason I was complaining during the game was because of all the UF bs we have dealt with.

Rad Jackson was double covered ...but he didnt get his head around and look for the ball or he probably could have gotten it. Gmac led him about 8 feet inside towards the hash

FL is going to kick the crap out of next Saturday

They are 3 -7 regardless, shouldn’t be any excuse for losing to them, Kensucky took em behind the woodshed for an epic ass whipping for crying out loud. I fully expect Heuple lay his usual egg in The Swamp though, it’s just what he does, I’m used to it.

The Hype always blows a road game he should win.

Yall understand why I fussed at you last week?

It sucks we have a capable offense to at least make the playoffs just too many “self inflicted” mistakes along with play calling and clock management. Maybe if we just had a slightly better defense. Even with the corner injuries we should be better than what we are. Maybe next year.

Yeah, but the self inflicted wounds are what you are going to get with a gun slinger

Oh I fully understood now and understood then, but I’m one of those that you gotta show me you’ve got it together this time before I’ll believe it. I base everything on results and what my eyes see. We beat a team that we darn well should have beaten and that’s a good positive thing. A W in the swamp is always a good thing regardless of either teams record. I personally kind of hate we won’t have the Gators on the schedule every season anymore even though it’s probably a positive thing for us, but that’s just me.

Injuries are just a part of the game and every team has to deal with them, but losing our 2 all conference and possibly all American caliber corners really really hurt us on D.

Hood has played pretty well. Redmond has been a liability. That said the strength is still in the offense and for some reason they coached like we had a solid defense.

To some extent but he played well the UGA game. Well enough to not settle for fgs or fg attempts. It should’ve never went to OT or came down to a kick. The bama game he played ok and the play before the half was doomed before it happened. I think everyone, even Stevie Wonder, saw that ridiculousness coming. The OU game we should’ve been up big at the half instead of down 6. A lot of blame to pass around there and the first game Joey looked really rattled. Again the inability to make a fg and then draw up a play to hit a guy that never plays in the face just makes you shake your head. Defense is what it is for whatever reason. If the playoffs didn’t exist you could chalk this up as a decent season but now with the playoffs every missed opportunity is a waste.

Redmond has been much improved the past couple of games. He's learning back there.

Hopefully. He hasn’t been tested or picked on as much as he was earlier in the season. Good to see him get a pick last week and maybe a little confidence. Hopefully he turns out to be a good one and this is just some growing pains.

I mean I don't know how else you look at it when you throw a freshman into the fahr.

Well growing pains is conditional on whether or not he gets better. If he doesn’t get better then he just turns out to not be that good from the start.

If you don't feel great about this win your an ahole. Stop biatching. And yes there were things we could de better. But as a human what are you doing. Go have fun. What the heck folks? Worry about the negative later

100% this. We dominated the 2nd half also btw folks. Our 2 drives took over 13mins of the 15min 4th quarter...and we could have scored at the end if we wanted to. We ran the ball down their throats in 7min long drives...which a 4min game killer drive is considered the hardest thing to do for an offense. It means running the ball vs loaded boxes and STILL converting over and over. Our last drive was about 7mins of running. We even got 14carries for 40 something yards for true freshman RB Morris which was VERY important since we want him to stay. Morris is the quickest and shiftiest RB on our team, which is why he returns kickoffs. Our offense is set up to be loaded next year. We get a couple Safeties and a couple DTackles on defense and we will be in the playoff hunt again. So exciting. My how fast things change in the SEC. A month ago folks said OKs coach was on the hotseat and wondering if he would finish this season...the he beat us, bama, and misery and now Venables big new contract is under discussion. In 3 weeks.

Yall realize when we beat Vandy next week that the ONLY reason we arent in the playoffs hoping to make a Title run is because Gilbert couldnt hit a 42yd FG AT HOME to beat UGA as time expired?

Also, if we beat Vandy and win our bowlgame...4 year players like Tyre West will have 40wins in their 4year careers at Tennessee? Averaging 10wins a year for 4 years. Straight. Yet we have morans in the FF demanding coaches be fired when we lose a game...to ranked SEC teams mind you. The vocal minority of shtupid in this fanbase is an embarrassment.

It always has been embarrassment.
