great win but slightly disappointed

I ain't worried about it. I'm a grown man with big ole shoulder and thick skin.

I said what I said. good win but we totally quit the second half. not Nick Saban quality football. not Steve Spurrier quality football.

let's just go beat Vandy

You most certainly can make a legitimate argument that we took our foot off the gas pedal. However, we had the ball for 45 plays in the first half and only 28 in the second. Part of that is due to the fact that the Reptilian Horde ran the ball more consistently and with greater success in the second half, arguably in part to shorten the game. We played an almost perfect first half and I assume that the opposition coaching staff was quite aware of the fact that, if they weren't careful, they could wind up losing somewhere on par with, say, 45-0, and on their home turf no less. I, too, would have loved to see that a la 1990, when we smoked Spurrier 45-3. However, the second half's course of events, in my opinion, was to preserve some shred of dignity for the lizards. I am not attributing that to Heupel but, rather, his counterparts across the field.

How anybody can't see this is beyond me.

They were literally down 4 scores and letting the clock tick down to around 10 seconds before every snap.

There's gamesmanship within the game. FL was just trying to get it over with. When you're the team in control, you take it and leave in one piece.
Anybody remember Vandy taking cheap shots last year?

The only criticism I can offer from is not using the time out to take an end zone shot at the end of the 1st half. Other than that, I'll score it about 99/100.

Babbling about championship football and crying about style points when the other team is waiving the flag just means you don't know jack about football.
Great points. I would also add that Florida stayed in that two deep safety look all night and would not allow the long ball. As I recall, we only threw one to Brazzell and it was double covered. There was a reason we ran the ball a lot but a bunch of our erstwhile “fans” wouldn’t know that. The game was on the bag at halftime.

Well at least Fla is 3-8 and won't make a bowl game. Good to see where their at
Because of their arrogance.
Your point is well taken. But OTOH i dont think anyone would argue that they are the most talented 3-8 team in college football, especially on the DL.

we have already been in those shoes for a couple decades pal 😂

Well, that was kind of my point

With the exception of the Spurrier years-Florida never really blew us out, or made much of an effort to anyway.

Just a ton of 15-20 point wins for them when we were never really in the game.

GAmes that were much closer on paper than they were in reality.

We are out of playoff contention. No need to run up the score as we know they would return the favor the first opportunity they are given

31 points in the first half and nothing the entire second half after the announcers got done saying Heupel never lets off the gas and shows no mercy.

I wish we had beaten these guys by 60 to make up for all the years of losing.

good game
good win.
Some of you are embarrassing AF. Just saying

We had three possessions in the second half. Punted once. Nobody took their foot off the gas.

I mean look, Florida came out with an entire half left waving the white flag running the clock out, that’s HILARIOUS. Give me that sight over scoring a couple more garbage time TDs.

If any part of you is disappointed blowing them out at their place given the history, you’re beyond help tbh

So TN made FL roll over and show the belly in the 1st half then spent the 2nd half rubbing it when they should have been shaving it and prepping for surgery

What a great win for us but that team is broken. Stilll, hate the gators. Thank goodness. Just like why Neyland was tasked, we have to beat Vandy.

Vols had 3 possessions in second half and only punted once. Reality.

We buried them early and sat on it. They didn’t have the fire to climb out. It’s a good win and one that has been long in the making. They’re not getting Kiffin, IMO, and they’re likely to continue in the dumpster for a little while. Let’s just enjoy that, yeah?

I’m mildly disappointed in our fanbase. We stomp them in their home for the first time in 20 plus years and all people can do is bitch about it.

This FFS.

Love me some VOLS...as my handle portends...love Tennessee with all my heart

Some of the dumbest and whiniest mofos on planet EARTH are in this fanbase.

Idiots complaining right now are the same addled minds wanting to fire CJH when we lost to OK. Idiots then. Idiots now.

Im the furthest thing from being disappointed. This monkey is finally off our backs for GOOD. If you are feeling any bit dissatisfied with this victory just remember this statistic..

More like we gutted them in the first half and saditically watched them bleed out the second half

That would be "almost" scoring, then not, to give 'em hope

That was as close as I'm going to get revenge for '94's shutout here

I wanted to hang a shutout on them at their home, to break "we haven't been shut out at home", this was TNs best chance in probably the rest of my life with the new scheduling crap

It’s the same demographic that could win the powerball and complain endlessly about paying tax on winnings. There’s no end to the complaining, im just waiting until a VN poster gets there shot as an SEC head coach

Dude we went vanilla. Be happy we won at florida

We also got 14 carries for 40something yards for talented true freshman RB Morris...to make him want to stay. When FU knew we were gonna run it every play, we STILL did something we havent been able to do all season vs SEC teams: ran a 4min game sealing offense. Except it was 7minutes on the last drive. Absolutely running it down their throats even when they loaded the box because obviously we were gonna run the ball. Morris is fast, and the shiftiest RB we have. Which is why he returns kickoffs and may get punts too. We definitely want him to feel important especially since we dont have a RB in the 26 class. We havr Morris and Baker from 25.

Our Oline dominated an SEC defense this week. A solid SEC defense with a good Dline. Our defense dominated an SEC team for the 1st time this year. Dominated them. -1 yards in the 1st quarter where we scored 21points again.

The few of you complaining after this game need to seek help. Theres something wrong with you if you cannot enjoy a dominant win over a hated division rival...we havent dominated them like this since the "monsoon" game at Neyland in the 90s when we beat them like 42-3 or 42-10. The center had to hold onto the ball (Spencer Riley?) Or it would float away after being spotted because there was 6inches of standing water on the fake turf due to the deluge . Thats the last time we dominated FU like this. 30 years ago, you Muppets. Enjoy it!
