Last of the Boomers

What demographics are the deciding factors in electing these legislative idiots leading to the current deficit? It's not the "Boomers". Boomers were generally opposed to Obamacare, deficit spending, government expansion and overreach. We've been bitching about raiding the social security trust for funding other government programs for decades!

Boomers are in charge. Both parties are spending out of control so this isnt a R vs D debate. It has been that way for 25 years. You can say they are opposed to those things but when they got put in charge, they ramped up defecit spending, ramped up regulations, ramped overreach, ramped up govt expansion. Actions speak louder than words.

If they are going to slander other generations, they need to look at what they've done while in charge...

Over 7 trillion in spending next year. 4x as much as it was in 2000.

Taxes arent the issue. The spending is the issue. Boomers have had the pursestrings for the past 25 years.....
I guess that is one way of looking at it. Failure to raise tax rates to pay for increased spending and reduce the deficit.
You can't get reelected raising taxes.
Who's next? Gen X?

Your generation and those following you elected the Congresses you rail against. You’re not a boomer, and you’re culpable. Own it.

Meh. Politics are determined by $$$ and influence. For the past 25 years, its been Boomers. Boomers are funding and nominating one person who wants to kick the can down the road to go against another candidate who wants to do the same. It's either the red dogshit vs the blue dogshit. The bulk of the 35T check you have no intent of paying lay of the feet of Boomers...

While you whine about entitled millennials (who havent been able to vote all of the past 25 yrs), you have saddled them with 35T of debt...

I didn’t take you for a voluntarily ignorant belligerent, but you are claiming just that by refusing to acknowledge that your generation and those following have had a super majority for decades. You single out boomers in Congress while denying that you and yours elected them.

No, you want to blame millenials for being entitled and you stuck them with trillions of debt while they were 4 years old. You know what, they couldnt vote then..

The three biggest spending whores of all time (Bush 2, Trump, Obama) are all boomers. Funded by boomers. Nominated by Boomers. Own it.

You’re awfully delusional for an accountant.

Gen X born 1965 - 1980 first eligible to vote in 1983.

Gen Y born 1981 - 1996 first eligible to vote in 1999.

Collectively, these two generations have had a supermajority of the electorate the past quarter century.

You just dont like the truth....
Your tactics are those of a MAGA Republican, ignoring the truth that doesn’t align with your viewpoint and falsely accusing those who don’t fall in line with the tripe you’re trumpeting.

Millennial, millennial, millennial… Gen X and Gen Y don’t exist, haven’t ever voted, so, it must be the fault of all boomers. 🙄

Post 1965 births didnt have supermajority in 2000 or 2008 or 2016 when the bulk of the 35T was incurred. Much less, the $$$$ majority.

Nice try. But once again, you fail...

You’re just pulling shizzle out of your backside. Stating that I “fail” doesn’t mean twizzle.

Nope, here's some MAGA math creepy old man...

2000 - Boomer vs Boomer. Largest generational voting block Boomers.

2004 amd 2008 - Boomer re-elected. Largest generational voting block Boomers.

2012 and 2016 - Boomer vs Boomer. Largest generational voting block Boomers.

I’m not taking your word for it. Besides, you exempt your generation from any culpability, and yourself? I’m sure you have some concocted rationale for why you’re the sole saint among all US citizens, alive or dead.

Bottom line, I do not care that you feel better about yourself by blaming your parents’ generation for America’s ills, and that you’ve convinced yourself that it is just that the majority of us be denied the benefits we’ve paid into all of our lives. We deserve to die penniless, homeless, and bereft of healthcare. It’s the bed of our making (and only ours), and we can lie in it. Feel good about yourself, now, ya hear?

Ive never exempted our generation. I'm not out here denying social security of Medicare. You paid in, you deserve what was promised. All Im saying before you thumb your nose at other generations for being entitled, your generation shares a large chunk (not all) of the blame for 35T in debt that will go to future generations. I am calling out that hypocrisy.

Im done here but you can have the last word.

No, you haven’t made any argument with me about millennials’ entitlement or boomer hypocrisy. You’ve declared that the entirety of US debt is the fault of voters and elected officials from the baby boom generation. When I gained enfranchisement, US Federal debt was ~$485 billion. It’s now over &35 trillion. I didn’t vote for or petition for this. My parents’ generation played a significant part, as did my generation, AND my children’s generation. Going forward, my generation is dying off, and yours and your children’s generations are the supermajority of the electorate. Prove that you have the political will to honor obligations to SS recipients and Medicare enrollees (while you fix healthcare in the US?), and to return fiscal responsibility to governance.
