He said it was false that they would no longer be prohibited symbols, not that they wouldn't be classified as hate symbols. Those aren't the same thing. Given that, I'm not sure "he responded to a strawman and that's the end of it for me" is something to brag about

It was posted very early on what this is all about. The classification of the symbols being prohibited is unchanged. The Commandant called the claim categorically false. Luther got all giddy in a reply about the 💩 WaPo article title that was misleading as hell. The symbols classification is unchanged what was changed was the removal of hate speech labeling. Which I replied to that I agree with. Equal protection under the law, no needless amplification for special classes. @volfanhill made multiple posts on this. At this point he began his usual “of course that wasn’t what I was talking about” stupidity that he does here daily. And that was my callout on him. So yeah I’ll stand pat.

It's interesting seeing the USA being dismantled by MAGA MAN, bit by bit. And the worst is yet to come. I hate what I'm seeing, but it is also almost fun to watch because I and others predicted the whole unfolding fiasco.

The controversy comes as the Coast Guard published its updated civil rights policy, reclassifying certain hate-related imagery as “potentially divisive.” The move comes amid broader efforts by the Trump administration to roll back military guidance related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Anyone who takes the word of a trump appointed official as the ultimate truth and "final word" is an IDIOT.

If you actually look at the words, you'll see that the Washington Post clearly stated "would no longer be classified as hate incidents" which is 100% true.

If you continue to read closely, you will see that Lunday in no way denies that claim.

What the Washington Post reported it true. Simple as that!

And on the second part I was waiting for you to play this card. He is a career military officer, has served in multiple leadership positions in the USCG including being Vice Commandant which is second in command just before his current posting, and he has a law degree from George Washington. Yeah I’ll take his word for it over your butt hurt crying bait and switch 💩 all day long.
