That is not a statement from an AD that is expecting his coach to stay.
Aaron Hernandez moves to the edge of his stool….
If they pay him a sh*t pile of money----the pressure ramps up big timeThis is somewhat of a hot take, but I really believe Kiffin stays at Ole Miss. They're giving him everything he needs to win there. Recruiting grounds don't mean anything anymore, it's not the old days where UF and LSU are clearly the better choice because you can get better recruits. Ole Miss has a massive NIL fund, they love him, the pressure isn't as much to win, and yet he's winning anyway. I think he'd be a fool to go anywhere but OSU or Bama or UGA at this point in time. And I think he learned his lesson from leaving us.
Well saidThere is a way to do it that doesn't offend the locals. Try that. Don't expect to be thanked, admired, or affirmed for it. When you say something, say it again, and again, defend it to the death, get mad, and then threaten to leave it's just tiresome. Then it always falls to the standard range of complaints...echo chamber, contrary views unwelcome, just being real, etc. Ad nauseum.
You bring occasional bad news but generally do it in a way that doesn't bother me. "Basillio said...". Done. I honestly haven't stalked your posts, so maybe this isn't true, but I don't remember you defending it, or patting yourself on the back when it proves to be true, or getting mad or offended when people attack Basilio. You don't make yourself a target. Some do. Then complain bitterly that they are.
Jake Fromm did as a true freshman. He wasn't the day one starter tho but he started 14 of the 15 games that season and lead UGA to the national championship game. I agree with you tho, Fromm is the exception, not the rule. Been numerous RS FR to do it tho.So, you believe that a Freshmen straight out of high school would beat GM out for starting QB if JA doesn't get another year? Let me use the words from the SEC banner waivers on here.." the SEC schedule is brutal" no way a Freshmen QB can handle the every week grind in this conference...
I think that Kiffin is probably gone, as I think even the new version of him can't resist the shiny new thing, but I wonder if there's an alternative explanation. The timing of the whole situation, the overt publicity of family trips and dragging things out another week makes no sense for any of the parties involved, Kiffin included. Everyone needs clarity yesterday. LSU and Florida aren't likely to go down their lists further if he is still seen as a likely answer to their prayers. I doubt that they jump before the announcement next weekend. If he's leaving, why in the world would he even stay for the egg bowl as a dead man walking. Early signing window is less than two weeks away, and you're automatically wasting a crucial week at your new job. I'm curious if there is method to the madness. Agree with OM leadership to string this out as long as possible with an unsigned MOU in place in the background. Engage in noisy, very visible courtship with two SEC power schools that are at an ebb in athletic department leadership and are desperate enough to wait for you. Vet and start contacting possible ESD recruits from both schools with the pitch "have they given you any idea who your new coach is going to be? Come play for me instead." Announce next Saturday with a smile and a wink from both AD and coach, leave hated rivals twisting in the wind, start poaching recruits. As the details of what happened leak out from the AD, the jilted, angry OM fanbase would realize that their fury continued the illusion that he was in the process of leaving and kept Florida and LSU vulnerable at a critical time. Probably won't happen, but he loves nothing more than a good troll job, and this would be a master stroke.
