and he's going to LSU, who Ole Miss has loathed for decades ("Go to hell, LSU!" is a common refrain)

Ole Miss's Vandy is Mississippi State. They think their Alabama is LSU. I don't think it's on the same level historically, but they hate LSU. This would be like Heupel leaving us for Bama or Florida or Georgia. Somewhere in that realm.

I’ve said it all along, my gut has been that Heupel isn’t here in 2026. I don’t see him at Florida though. It’ll either be LSU or Penn State. But if LSU gets Kiffin, I do think it’s much more likely he stays.

I think some think because Fazion is a specially talented QB that he will have no trouble starting day one in the SEC. We have some clueless fans

I hope it is. But Heupel is a great coach whose buyout isn’t astronomical. So he’s definitely an easy get should he be interested.

Out and about earlier. Sounds like things are heating up on the Kiffin to Florida rumors. Guess he had a meeting with either the OM president or AD today and tea leaves seem to point to him leaving OM. Not surprised Lane would leave a program in the lurch..... again.
