Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Here come the full press to make sure it doesn’t look like he sat out all year:

“He keeps trying to give it a go and the knee has swelling. So he has to shut it down.”

Swelling is so bad and continuous that he keeps practicing every week and has been for most of the season….. hmmmmm
Coach Matthews said the same like two weeks into the season on the radio about McCoy and I posted what Coach said on the radio people here lost their 💩 lmao. Coach is up there for practice quite frequently and spent a decade up there coaching. He isn’t some internet troll lmao. It is what it is

He practiced with the twos the last two weeks. Full go… And AP stated he likely won’t play today and save himself for the draft with only two games left. And he has been practicing on the field for over a month. That’s all from APs mouth and not mine. Take that as you want.
He is less than a year out from ACL surgery. And all ACL injuries are not the same, if he is getting swelling it is not fully healed. I don't know how people don't get that. My only explanation is that they have no clue and get all their info from clickbait Average ACL is a year recovery. END OF STORY.

I don’t mind the info. But to play devil’s advocate - he could be ok to practice but he may not feel comfortable enough to go during a game. Could’ve been practicing to try and get to that point?

When Zakai Ziegler returned from his ACL injury in 8 months then some fans ASSUMED that McCoy would as well. Different sport, different type of movement on the field and most importantly different people....

I get what you’re saying but practice is a long way from a live game. Heupel has consistently said that he’s doing everything to be able to play. Could be coach speak and protecting a player but he is convincing when he discusses McCoy. It could also be that after we lost to Oklahoma they collectively decided it wasn’t worth the risk because we weren’t going to the playoffs. Just speculating. I tend to think if he did try to play he would’ve been far worse than he was last year based on other players coming off that injury.
Another part of the problem is that coaches will always play it close to the vest so that the opponent hast to prepare for more scenarios. Anyone who swallows what coaches say at their press conferences are really naive. Heup knew McCoy wasn't playing, it is part of the dance. Most other coaches know it too but they can't take a chance, it is only the public and the casual gamblers who get sucked in.

Different injury. All ACLs are not the same. Some are are relatively easy fix, others are not. Same as all car accidents are not the same.

It’s just a joke but it’s also accurate.
Recruiting is about the future. People drawn to it are generally more positive and always will be. Those who come here and complain about that fact should read the room. There is another forum that focuses on the past. They might be more comfortable there.

Betty loved me, and nothing you could ever say could change that, you jealous bastard!
