Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

You're not going to get anyone to agree with that I predict, but I will absolutely concede there's a great possibility we would. I think Schiano's lack of success this time around at Rutgers has to do with the limitations at every job that's now limited: NIL. He was actually doing alright when he first took back over. I thought the PSU nonsense was just moral grandstanding (isn't' there a word for that?) because the fans thought they could hire a better coach than Currie. Turns out the guy they were just fine with was exponentially worse.

Nothing in there screams successful SEC coach. He would have been Butch Jones all over again, hence the backlash. Penn State played a role, but the fact they fired BJ just to attempt to rehire him in a different body was malpractice by the entire administration. It was an insult to everyone who called themselves a Vols fan.

I don’t like what he’s doing but appreciate you bringing what you know. Some guys on here suck. Just ignore them.
Sorry so late, but with work, yadda yadda. Anyway, I was one of those ‘ everyone’s posts deserve to be read, even though I disagree with them’ types in my earlier days on here. BUT, there’s too many trolls and idiots for me to wade through on a daily basis. I have an ignore list and it grows even more so when we lose. Hey, I’m old and have gotten to the age that I don’t care if I hurt anyones feelings stage.

The "I refuse to ignore anyone" crowd are almost as bad as the people who need to be ignored. OK fine don't ignore the trolls, but stop quoting them and engaging with them and constantly complaining about them then.

Total conjecture here. But I’m concerned baseball is in for a tailspin. You just don’t listen to fans and the current team. And to be candid Elander may have been the best we could have gotten. So maybe moot point.
Good thing you qualified that with total conjecture. I know as much as anybody i.e. nothing and my total conjecture leans the other way.

Not sure why you’re so defensive about him. People around that program knew. All the way to the top of the university. I think it’s very likely he knew. That’s enough for ME to not want him anywhere near Tennessee.
I'm not sure why you perceive me as defensive. What do you think I'm being defensive over? You think I'm related to the guy or something?

But we don’t see them somewhat. Somewhere in the last couple of years, we still see them posting on block when others doesn’t have them on ignore. I’ll be the first to admit that I unblocked someone to get the content of the conversation, and I’ve hated and realized I was right to begin with. @frank, I miss the old way.

Believe what you want. I won’t speak again on it or bring any other info here again.
We all believe what we want. You have to know your post is going to be unpopular. Why get upset when people question it? I don't know, one way or the other. We can agree that we hope he has a great NFL career.

Don't act so persecuted

It’s one thing to question, it’s another to keep commenting and go above the line. Anything is unpopular on here unless it’s completely positive. Anyone is welcome to ignore what I say.

Lol. You don’t know what he would have done here. Tell me what in Josh Heupels pervious seasons screamed successful SEC coach.

Sounds very clickbait-y.

Also before UGA?

If so, sounds very clickbait-y.
UGA was the goal according to ppl lime volquest, then after UGA and into October, they brought up his people not wanting him to play. He wanted to play, but he didn't. Then they reneged on that later. Wasn't clickbait-y, they said it verbally in videos.

And just where have you’ve been mister? I’ve noticed you’ve been lagging behind more and more. You’re almost in the realm of @SmokinBob and Doc. Life stuff? I miss them also, but I know they’ll catch up after our CFB championship 😁.

Edit: on Symrna, cut him some slack. He’s been attacked a lot the last few days. The kid threw himself in the fire and has been roasted for stupid reasons.

Having some of the best offenses ever and winning consistently outside of a bs 6-4 covid year. Tons of op outs and injuries that seasons.

Oklahoma pedigree and success as a coordinator there. Success at Utah State, Mizzou in the SEC and then UCF.

Schiano did a good job at Rutgers, sure, but Josh easily had a better resume, especially when it comes to understanding what it takes to win at an elite program.
