I'm home. We weren't gonna fish tomorrow (technically today), so we just headed back. Had a fun time the whole trip, but getting into those reds today was fun, despite being small ones. I did hook a pretty decent shark, the fight lasted maybe 3 seconds , I doubt I would've landed it with a steel leader. I put one on after he broke me off, but he never hit again. Cedar key is fixing to have a new sandwich at the little sandwich shop. We weren't very hungry, so ate there. The lady had made bbq, and I had ordered the grilled cheese. I smooth talked her into putting some of the BBQ on my grilled cheese. She thought that sounded good, so she asked my name, and said she was adding a sandwich to the menu, and naming it after me

I'll let you know this weekend, think we're going surf fishing. Haven't gone in a while since it's been so slow. Apparently the reds are biting in the creeks, keeper size even in the small creeks that I'm in. But I know people are also going out in their boats in the river to target the jumbo bull reds in deep water with blue crab this time of year.

Surf fishing yesterday was rough. Conditions were bad, way too windy and current was dragging 5 Oz satellites. Nice day outside at least.

Night fishing in the creek went better. Keeper red and a jumbo white cat plus some other reds and cats.

Nice! Met a couple from Jacksonville at church this morning, they were visiting family. Told them I was gonna load up, and head back with them, so I could fish.

Really nice day at the beach yesterday. Finally got some nice conditions, super calm and clear water, and no strong current for the first time in a while. Sadly the pompano still elude us. Just got a few whiting and Bluefish. Saw tons of mondo size mullet jumping in the surf right in front of us. Bite very slow once again.

Hey @MontyPython looks like the piers on Topsail and the one on Emerald Isle are slammin some nice specks, black drum, and whiting (sea mullet) on the piers. Are they still chewin up yore way?

Sadly, I haven't wet a line in months. Damn work getting in the way mostly.

Specks should be here in the surf now, so I should give it a whirl next week w time off. I'll post results here.

Made it over, didn't get to fish too long this evening, little town was packed. Hopefully it won't be tomorrow, or Monday. Hopefully catch a few, but hoping to stress release more than anything. These little guys helped a little.
