With all due respect, I am beginning to care less and less what the players think about this matter. I refuse to lump all of them into the same proverbial boat, but far too many of them now treat college football, particularly the transfer portal, like a turnstile, with no loyalty whatsoever to the university, their coaches or, ultimately, their own teammates. Opting out of the Orange Bowl, for example, if you aren’t in the playoff, is despicable.

When it comes to our school colors, I have yet to hear a compelling argument for minimizing the most distinctive and, arguably, prettiest color scheme in all of college athletics in favor of alternative uniforms or the “stormtrooper” look. We went on a fall-foliage vacation to the Idaho Rockies last month and can report that at least a dozen people started conversations with us almost the moment they saw us. Why? Because of the Tennessee orange regalia that we wore. ‘tis one of the best conversation starters imaginable, simply because of its recognizability. DO NOT POLLUTE OUR BRAND!!

I like black uniforms around Halloween and the Smokey greys once a year. But those last grey uniforms looked like a rec league team mixing gear from two different seasons.

Impossible to correct now. We are nothing more than a gimmick program that is only competitive occasionally. Mid-tier SEC at best. We have problems attracting recruits using traditional volunteer traditions.

If not for the size of our stadium no one would even pay attention to this program anymore.

Serious question. Did we ever wear the awful gray unis prior to Butch? I can't remember ever seeing them prior to him, but hey, I've got a few years on me. If I'm right, that's the only justification that I need to hate gray unis forever. I can tolerate the Dark Mode, it's actually pretty cool, but I loathe the gray with all that is in me because it just reminds of Butch and he's worth forgetting.

I don’t care if we wear lilac pink uniforms. Just beat those slimy stinking lizards.

I’m not a fan of the black out stuff. To me it means a loss. Folks get all fired up about the fluff and stuff; the pretty uniforms, the impressive light show, the music, etc….and the we lose.

Yeah, I’d just rather the team focus on the damn opponent and win.

Yes, I understand that schools cannot recruit with traditional unis. Alabama has elevated its recruiting since they went with their gray jersey/crimson pants combo, the crimson jersey with black pants and gray slash mark helmets, and the pink and black with crimson pajama shirts hanging out.

Unies last Saturday were probably the worst I have ever seen in my 87 years of live in East Tennessee. It looked like a bunch of thugs had decided to start a football game with Walmart merchandise. Hardly anny of the players were wearing them the same way. No wonder they played like they had lost their way to the field.
