I feel sorry for anyone who watched that game, saw both of those rosters and believes this. For this to be true, Kentucky has to pay average players more than anyone else is paying good players to play at Kentucky.
Which I fully acknowledged. What I said was it didn't need to be an expensive stud QB. Joey wasn't considered top-tier and he's done fine. If we spend all of our money on a stud QB, we can't fix the defense, which puts us in this exact same position next year. After Merk transfers, we will have 2 scholarship QBs…a redshirt FR and a true FR. We absolutely have to take a portal QB to have 3 scholly QBs.
Depends how they feel about GMac.Saw where someone was pumping up us going after Sam Leavitt ASU--- was doing very well until injury, but now good to go with 2yrs remaining... would be a good get IMO--- just give him Boo's and Bey's money...
<sigh> Go back and read more of my posts. I said we would need a portal QB if Merk does leave, it just didn't need to be an expensive option.I believed it when we recruited him and I still do: GMac can be a star here. That said, I don’t think it’s asking a lot to go out and get a portal QB for the cheap just to have that third option should GMac go down.
SIAP but man it is shocking to think McCoy could go #11 in the draft without playing a single snap of football. I know he’s great, but still. How often do we see that happen? Top 10-15 picks come at a premium, and it would seem like a real risk to draft someone that high coming off major surgery without seeing him play a single snap.
