Tennessee Lady Vol News

I'm gonna wait and see what Bri does,,,Funny how she can be wrong and everyone still holds her in esteem, yet,,,ohh forget it.

Not losing my smile bc some nut is shooting a rumor out there,,,the only ones who know what's going to happen are Bri and whoever she tells

100% KLU !
I don’t do social media, so take it for what it’s worth, but her visit to UT with Edwards who she has played with before along with Mia in all star events makes me lean UT heavily.

At the time, we had 2 all-Americans (Ruby and Talasia) and 3 of our top 4 scorers back, plus Boyd and Latham returning for the second season, and added 5 all-Americans, and one of those all-Americans had 2 years of experience in the SEC and was the 6th player of the year in the Big Ten. With that group, we looked at the top 5 on paper. There is no way a team of this caliber should be struggling against midmajors even if they are upgraded mid-major teams on the schedule. A team like TCU has a whole bunch of transfers just knocked off NCST. UT Martin has lost to 273 ranked Northern alabama and Belmont just squeaked one out against 160 Dayton. My question would be, are we just playing that poorly, or is the buy-in just not there yet?

You’re neglecting the fact that we need 4 freshman to produce. They will, but it’s going to take a minute.

TCU is loaded with veteran talent, they have three very good, senior, point guards.

We do not.

Maybe more reason to keep Mia in as long as possible as she is the only true PG on the roster ready for this level. Boyd has merit as well. But the same is true for most positions. The best need to be in there for extended PT, esp in crunch minutes. IMO, UT does not need 4 freshman to produce at a high level for success this season. Mia is the exception, probably Civil also but not as urgent there as the PG position. Whatever they get from Prawl and Mya this year is a bonus.

The main nucleus this season should be Coop, Barker, Spear, Mia, Civil, Richardson and Latham (imo) and use the others like Boyd, Prawl, Wynn etc to be super subs.

Mia is not the only true PG on the roster.
Her sister Mya is a true PG.
Kaniya Boyd spent her entire freshman season playing PG and had a key role on last year’s team.
True PG or combo guard all of it is the same in WBB today.

If you read closely I said “at this level” for right now. I also said Boyd has merit there as well. The point I was making was that there was not a need this year for 4 freshman to produce as the previous poster suggested. That is true outside of PG, where frosh Mia is much needed. It’s the reason she starts. Civil also makes that grade for needed, so two freshman are needed this year, kapiche?

Yeah you go back and edit post as usual. Point stand remains.
There are 3 PGs on the roster.
You miss the point made as usual. Carry on. I only edit grammar and spelling not the info. I type fast, hence the edit. Mya is apparently not ready based upon her minutes. You can take that up with the coaching staff. I said Boyd had merit, but she has been passed over by Mia, so yeah, Mia is needed As a freshman to produce, she is your starting PG. Hello.

You calling it a point doesn’t make it meaningful.
Atleast 4 of the freshmen have a significant role right now. Mya has played just as much as many freshmen on the D1 level as a backup. Jaida Civil is a starter or one of the top reserves game to game.
Deniya Prawl is a key reserve. Mia is a starter or one of the top reserves game to game.
This isn’t about who is most valuable they all have a significant role.
The key for the staff and what Coach Caldwell is doing is trying to put them all in a position to be successful.
As CKC has said the freshmen class is the future.

You can go to Burger King and have it your way. I wont argue. But everything I said was accurate.

Actually 4 are needed. We need Mia, Mya, Jaida and Deniya all to play at a level they don’t yet understand. With the dismissal of Ruby and whatever is going on with Latham it’s very important Deniya comes along quickly.

It looked like she would get more time to find her fitting until those two went out. It’s game time now.

This system requires that everyone on the floor is a threat. Not just one or two players. Makes us too one dimensional and easy to guard.

Rooster, you’re the same poster that sold that hot air about Oliviyah Edwards being a SC lean then disappeared off the message board for months without ever acknowledging she has since signed to Tennessee.. I don’t take you serious.

Another thing, Deniya Prawl was playing regardless of what happened with other players on the roster.

She was going to have a significant role this season.

It’s only been four games into the season.
I ain’t never seen this many conclusions being drawn in the first month of a season ever.

It’s absolutely perfect that Jumper liked this post of yours.

I’ll try to focus this back on the real point which is point guard play.

I don’t care how many PGs are on the roster, I do think we have an issue at this spot. It makes me appreciate Samara Spencer sooooo much. What a huge pick up she was last year. She knew how to run Kim’s offense so well. She would get down the floor in a flash, passing up to open players and if not she’d get in the paint, pass out to a three point shooter, a cutting player, and if all that wasn’t open, she’d back it out and run some offense.

We simply haven’t seen that from any player on TN roster this year. We’re depending on a freshman, albeit a great one, to do most of this. It’s going to take her some time to learn and grow. I’m excited to see it and believe it will happen, we’re just going to have to give it some time.

I also have a newfound appreciation for her toughness. She would take a charge, and she was sometimes the first to dive on a loose ball on the ground. I knew she was tough last year, but it's really apparent this year.

Really don't have enough information to compare Spencer and Mia Pauldo. For the four games that Mia has played her stats are eerily similar to what Spencer did at the position last season. I need at least another ten games to make a determination of how we stand at point guard. I do know that PPG, assists per game, three point shooting, and steals per game are very close to the same. Free throw shooting goes to Pauldo 75 percent to 54 percent and turnovers per game Pauldo as well. Long way to go, I need to see a lot more.

Why is it you are constantly embroiled in a fight with other posters? Can't you try to bring a tiny bit of value and courtesy as a guest here and a fan of another team?
Oh geeze, the keyboard warrior is giving advice on courtesy now.

Rickster's right. When you first came on to this board you were not not as argumentative as you have become. I applaud the change Rickster has made.

You could learn something from this keyboard warrior
I have learned everything I need to know about you over the years.
