Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

That’s a dumb take from what I said.
And the complete opposite of what I’d rather do.

We recruited a top 2 , 5 star Played him before he was ready, his “people” couldn’t accept he wasn’t ready , blamed the coaches and players around him and hit the portal! Recruited 2 top QB’s to Follow.

Dream situation, Nico for 2 is here and back next year, Gmac for 2 , Brandon for 2.

As is Normal, in the age of NIL and Portal Coaches plans didn’t work out , so you gotta go plan B .

If Plan B is starting a FR or Soph in the SEC on a regular basis is a plan that will fail.
Forget the qbs. Everyone gets hung up on them. You win with defense and running the damn ball. It has always been and will always be.

If you want to be a top 5 team, you gotta pay. We’re 4-10 million behind the top 10 spenders.
A top Portal QB 3-4 million, so if we can’t afford one then people are right,
UT isn’t a top destination job.
You have no clue what you are talking about. $10 million behind. Lol bahahaha

It might make you sick then to learn what some players are making. We spend as a top ten program. And we are not that far behind.

Only case that could be made is that we have likely overspent on some spots which would be true.

Bro!…are you? The original Smyrna vol?

This is something that LSU and Florida fans do not seem to understand. They think the right coach and they are right back to winning titles. What they don't get at all is that a coach of that caliber is not going to want to take over those programs if he's already got enough to win where he's at. Going to see a lot more of that. Seems like the only people who are not saying Kiffin is staying at this point are Lane Kiffin and Jimmy Sexton.

Word is Knox has told teammates he's going to be in Oxford next year. Recruits already seemed to know. Not only did Ole Miss not stop recruiting, they are trying to flip two Florida commits.
Kiffin has not signed a contract extension at Ole Pi$$ and this is just adding fuel to the fire. If he was serious about staying at Ole Pi$$, one would think that the contract would have already been signed. The other side of the coin it that Kiffin is an attention whore and is probably enjoying every minute of this situation

I looked up whether Otis Redding was actually sitting on the dock of a bay when he wrote his famous song today and found out that he was on a houseboat in California. I felt deceived. All these years.
Damn, I always thought he was shittin' on the dock of the bay. That brings a whole new meaning to that song 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

Crash out for losing a game in a place you haven't won since 2003? 😂
Couple tips I have found helpful for not crashing out. After all, it's just football:

1) Watch game afterwards if we win (I'll be practiving this one. Hate Florida and can't stomach watching live)
2) Watch game real-time with sound off
3) Watch game while working out

Now beat them damn Gatas.

They see GMac all the time. They know if they believe he will be good enough. This offense is designed to make bad qbs good and good qbs great, etc. The main thing is making sure the qb can throw a decent deep ball.
GMac can do that---just needs about 20 lbs on those bones

Go look at the top 12 and their QB's:

1. Ohio State - high paid, but from HS - they won it all last year without a top QB
2. Indiana - Not highly paid
3. Texas A&M - not highly paid
4. Georgia - not highly paid
5. Texas Tech - no idea but says he makes 1 mil from what I could find
6. Ole Miss - transfer from D2
7. Oregon - most likely highly paid
8. Oklahoma - highly paid (could make the case he's not the reason for the team's success)
9. Notre Dame - RFr QB
10. Alabama - 5th Yr Senior (probably not highly paid)
11. BYU - QB left in the summer, not highly paid
12. Utah - couldn't find anything but not a huge name, so would assume he's not making 3-4 mil
Don’t know where you get your info but from what I’ve seen Indiana and Bama 2.3million-2.7 million.
Ohio st- didn’t sign out of hs. Signed with Bama and transferred.

A mix of transfers, highly paid QB’s or teams with huge team NiL $$.

I’ll bet you $$$ that if we get a starting level QB form the portal that GMAC will transfer. High level QBs don’t sit multiple years. And no, Merk is not that. And they rode with Nico in year two because they paid him a lot and he would have left if you didn’t. Same with Faizon, he isn’t staying for three years to ride the bench and we aren’t paying him too either.
So Gmac or Faizon will transfer anyway??
Because neither one is going to sit multiple years.
So how’s bringing in a one year guy starter level to compete going to change that?

Not at all from what you’re saying
