The 2025-2026 NBA Season Thread (Where 95 Vol Alum shows Zion Williamson how KETO works)

Somehow this escaped me...to recap, in b2b games over 3 nights vs. Wemby, Steph scored 95 points on 51 shots (w/ 24 FTA's) and he had as many steals as turnovers (4) and came away with 2 W's.

Steph is Wemby's nightmare and that's going to fuel the most incredible individual run in NBA history.

OKC is reigning champs, still one of the youngest teams, their #2 hasn't played yet and they're 14-1. Out of nowhere, Ajay Mitchell is looking like an all-star. Somebody pointed out they have 6 guards who should be getting at least 25 mpg. Caruso is only playing 18. We haven't even seen Topic or Sorber yet. Everybody is locked up* through next season. And they have the 4-8 Clippers pick next year. This is crazy.

*although I imagine they will offload some contracts to get under the 2nd apron next year

Going to be interesting to see how long it takes LeBron in the mix with AR15 and Luka playing so well at the moment... Rua and Ayton are playing well also ..

They are over-achieving rn and could comr down to earth at any moment, so Lebron is in a precarious position.

They are like 7 points better per 100 defensively than everyone and yet they are bottom 5 in 3-point percentage allowed, that's insane.

They concede the 3 pt line and try to make life hell for you in every other aspect of offense.

@n_huffhines we buying the Suns as a playoff team?

No, but I like the fight. Maybe play-in.

They're winning because they are shooting lots of 3's, making them, and getting lots of offensive rebounds. Not sure that is sustainable. They're forcing a lot of turnovers, and then they're average or worse beyond that.

Also, Simmons did a 90-minute mailbag episode, solo. It was awesome. Listened to the whole thing through. Felt like the old days.

You must've been going crazy in the episode last week that was basically a Jokic and Pistons love fest.

Joe Ingles and Ant caught at a Target together. This friendship makes so much sense.

@n_huffhines who says no

Pacers: Yves Missi, Saddiq Bey

Pelicans: Benedict Mathurin

Definitely not Pels. I think Pacers would be foolish to make that trade right now. They should be propping up his value as much as they can until the trade deadline. They can successfully tank and get him 25 ppg.

He may not fetch that much as an RFA, so they may play that game. Bey is a great role player for them when they are full strength, tho. I imagine they could get him with a sign and trade if they don't get something better by the AS break.

Us Norm Powell truthers are feeling pretty good right now.

Speaking of truthers, who is with me on Cam Whitmore? I don't understand how this guy isn't valued more. He's getting 17 mpg on the Wizards. He's 21 and in his 3rd year. He's averaged over 20 pp36 every year shooting 36% from 3p and 53% from 2p, and he does everything except play-making (which he might learn to do if someone were developing him).

Free Cam!

@zjcvols they should see if the Pacers will trade Mathurin for him

Matisse Thybuille is the player I think the Lakers should eventually go after.. we have enough scoring already need another good defender... Marcus Smart is one play away from being in street clothes for rest of season...
