The nine game conference schedule isn't a disadvantage. If the selection committee penalizes the SEC for beating itself up and puts in a disproportionate amount of Big10 schools who would be average in the SEC the playoff ratings will dwindle. IMO the SEC going to 9 games will force the other conferences and ND to step up their game and competition level.
Never happened before. Literally never. The B10 has never been inspired by anything the SEC has done except the top 3 or so teams. Now they added USC and ORE...so ofc there will be 2 more...but they also added weak azz UCLA etc to make about 10 other B10 teams whose 4year recruiting averages fall from 30th to 60th nationally. Feel free to look that up...I aint...but theres about 10 B10 teams whose last 4 recruiting classes (and the 30 or so before those since classes have been ranked) are NOT top 25 classes. They are 30th or worse. Meanwhile we have the 9th ranked class in 2026 and
There are 5 SEC schools above us now instead of 4 since Beys flipped to the suckeyes.
He was smart to do so honestly...scared to compete with the Matthews, Staley, Jackson, Smith, Dodson, etc...PLUS #1 Keys, King etc in next years class. He was gonna be the least experienced WR in a LOADED 4WR class...thats chasing a WR room with 5 guys already in it that are freshmen and RS frosh. Thats 8 WRs in front of him with only 1 or zero years ahead of him towards graduation. Hard sell. OSU may put all 3 starting WRs in the NFL this year and will definitely put 2 again. So theres opportunity at OSU for playing time. Not gonna happen here...and we are gonna lose half the guys we have now out of those 9. Hope we keep the right 5 and theyre dominant.
