Heup to LSU noise and where does TN job rank?

Or I'm visiting family members who can't cook 🤷‍♀️ Either way, I'm good eating the food we grow and I cook. And it actually has flavor. Will say though the worst ever was in CA.

I was raised on veggies from my dad’s garden, eggs from our own coop, locally grown and ground cornmeal, country ham, bacon, oysters from the Gulf, and homemade hot sauce. It’s delicious. Still my go-to comfort foods.

By contrast, I had at least two of the meals of my life in the Bay Area.

1. I split a dungeoness crab bigger than my head with my son that was sous-vide with butter and herbs. Paired excellent with a Coors banquet on the water in Sausalito at sunset.

Bring a hoodie.

2. My wife had the good fortune to get us a table at The Grove restaurant at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa their first night back off COVID restrictions in 2021 (I KNOW).

Roast duck, fennel salad with citrus dressing, caprese salad.

Their menu changes a lot as they’re a school cycling through different chefs - many of whom assist have tons of experience. All the ingredients are local - with the Central Valley a couple hours away, that means you pretty much have access to most produce most times of the year.

Add the house wine - red or white - as recommended.

Any AD would be TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE to not make that call.
Brother I’m telling you. Kiffin pissed off enough people with real power that no AD would survive it here. Would be career suicide. Now that’s not me saying that Lane isn’t a good coach or one of the hottest coaching commodities. But the bridge is burned here. It’s not the leaving, it’s all that happened behind the scenes.

To Lane Kiffin’s point, it’s about the money, current roster and brand. Our program is way above top half in CFB—just under those programs with Michigan, FL, Clemson, PSU, and FSU. That’s based on the recent performances in combo with the past quarter century of performance. TN and FSU would be at the bottom of that list based on those attributes, since we haven’t won an NC since 98 and hadn’t had a 10 win season since early 2000s. Our coaching choices and frugality hurt us big time. Anyways, that’s not bad company. If Tennessee wants to stay relative, they keep Huepel who is an emerging coach in the conversation at big time programs (or at least one of them), or they let him go by not giving him a raise and pay the money to a big time coach like Kiffin.

While I do think Huepel has done a great job, he has also missed the mark in year 5 and be fitted from a soft schedule last year. He has GOT to do better and make some tough decisions, or he will hover around the 8-9 win column as this league has gotten tougher.

Still, I agree that some of our fans are embarrassing and should be suppressed. Unfortunately technology has given anyone who wants one a voice that doesn’t represent the level-headed.
"since we haven’t won an NC since 98 and hadn’t had a 10 win season since early 2000s."

Maybe I'm missing your point here and you are saying "before Heupel got here," but we've had 2 10 win seasons in the last 4 years.

Not trying to carry water for the man, but he's been very vocal about coming back to the LORD and his family (tho seems like he's been a committed Dad). Using words like redemption and restoration ... I know it is a crazy thought but what IF part of his redemption journey is righting more wrongs he committed ... also, his son KNOX has said over and over he does not want to play college ball for his dad ... and his top pics are LSU and FL ... maybe Lane stays right where he is until another SEC job opens up. And yes, I'd be glad to have him back.
LOL do you also believe it when Nigerian princes email you for your bank code?

The average NFL coaches salary is 6 million, highest paid 20 million. With Kiffin reportedly being offered 15 million by UF combined with increases across the board for schools protecting existing coaches, will college teams start targeting NFL coaches?

I don’t think that a lot of/most NFL coaches want anything to do with the college game at this point in time.

What is funny to me is that mediocre coaches are running away with tons of money.

CJH has maturing to do as a HC. If he took his offense and one or two star players to LSU, they’d run him off after 3 years, maybe less.

Is Knoxville a better town to live in then Tampa?
Not even close. I doubt Golesh leaves USF. He can coach there forever, has a huge alumni base, and is in a recruiting hot bed. Coming back to UT would be a bad move for him.
I would trust Danny Dollars to make a good choice if Heup left. But I dont think Heup makes a move without Danny.

Heupel would be a fool not to “listen” to any offer. Of course he’d listen. Now, leaving a pretty secure AD in Knoxville for the complete shitshow known as LSU with a new inexperienced AD, new President & crazy ass Governor 3 miles away that’s NOT gonna offer a contract close to the old coach had. Naw.

Heupel could get some incentive bonuses added to his contract. Yes, if Kim & Tony had “NC bonuses” in their contracts, so definitely should Heupel.

I’ve lived in BR & while it’s a bigger city than Knoxville, it sucks. Not a place you want to raise a family.
But you have Boosie and NBA YB!!

Heupel is not leaving. That being said Golesh absolutely would take this job if asked. It absolutely would be a no brainer to accept the job. It's better in every conceivable way than the USF job. It's silly to think it would be a bad move

I would think CJH’s relationship with DW would be a major factor over anything LSU currently has to offer.

Will this parlay a buffer raise for Heup? Sure. But I don’t see him leaving.

Not to mention Golesh is average and the UsF fans already want him gone

Has anyone here been to Baton Rouge? Football coaches are a different breed and I’m not saying Knoxville is heaven on earth or anything, but compared to Baton Rouge it might as well be. No way I’d want to live there. That place is a complete dump.

And as far as quality of job, Tennessee is not elite like LSU admittedly is, but it is very good. We are not Kentucky or South Carolina or some other mid program with zero tradition or pride. Last I checked we recruit top 10 or close to it every year and have a 100k stadium of our own. Look at our record vs LSU. We have definitely held our own against them over the years.

LSU just opens the gates and blue chippers run it. Write them a check and they are purple.
That's not happening in Knoxville
I actually am not sure that is the case anymore in college FB. Maybe prior to NIL/transfer rules. Although now seems like these coaching changes now are much less predictable than before. If you look at UT compared to LSU. You almost have to give the nod to UT at this point. With LSU currently trying to battle with BK on his payment. On top of that they are currently with an interm AD. I just don't think LSU is in the shape to pull from a top program.
