Neyland Bricks Survey

Well let’s see…. My parents bought me a brick by the torchbearer for my “graduation “… 1997 ish. We found it, got a picture with it, etc. you always think it will be there forever. Nope. Didn’t even make it 20 years. It’s been long gone. They mailed a letter to my parents giving me some options: have it thrown away, or come collect it. Of course I didn’t get this letter until way too late… years and i live in Memphis anyway. And I think they would gave wrapped an orange ribbon around it. So the idea was they were taking them out and going to put them in a retaining wall nearby, but once the bricks were up, that cover story went away. I think they only had the cover story as a way to remove them without massive protest, but I am STILL OUTRAGED about it. I also notice there was no freeform “Do you have any other thoughts?” Because I certainly do. Fool me once….

Then say no.

You don’t seem to understand that money-raising is an integral part of being AD especially now. Which is bizarre. You want Tennessee to be successful, but you don’t want Tennessee to fundraise. That’s the definition of absurd.
He probably has walked into a Ferrari dealership and told them how he bought a Yugo in 1980 for $3990 and then started yelling how could he be expected to pay $430,000 for a new Spider.

Dr. moneybags at it again. I received survey about commemorative brick pricing for the GATE 9 “promenade” or whatever they call it…..

They are asking if you would pay for two bricks- one at stadium, one for keepsake, at, get this:

$750
$500
$250

IMO, they are treading on thin ice financially with a lot of people and better be careful.
Amen. I haven't been to any games there in a few years due to the expense of taking the whole family. Did take my son to the cheapest basketball game available couple years ago but thats it. I was afraid all this money crap would ruin it and it has unfortunately started. Everything is just money hungry, throw more money at the issue instead of working for it and having sustenance to it. The proof is already here. All teams are more evenly matched but it's due to none of these teams having a starting lineup that has practiced together more than a few months. It also produces worse football riddled with more mistakes. Hate it's that way but I have started preparing to really put a lot less effort and care into my beloved Vols. Will keep watch from a distance. When we give a kid a million dollars out of high school that may suck at college level while people go break their backs for crumbs, I can't be a part of that. Good luck Vols.

Does your name go on the brick? If so you are getting off cheap to have your name displayed in a stadium.

I got the survey. Took me about five seconds to click “Not interested at all.”

They told us if we still donated in 2020, they would build a wall and put our name on it in Neyland. That was under Fulmer. Never happened.

Disingenuous on the price, but think they know their audience, and there will be a Butch Jones commemorative brick by brick filled promenade, where generations from now, folks can go see "Pop-Pop's brick" at Neyland Stadium.

Next he’ll have people kissing his wall. It’s in his DNA.

Can you bring your commemorative brick to the games? lol that would end much worser than the anti-disco album night at Chicago White Sox Commisky Park ...many years ago.

So stop buying them. You already said you regret this year. Don't renew and stay home, you won't be missed. It's that simple.

Outside of the bricks, when else have we been asked for more?
You have to love the fratricide. I remember when sports used to unite folk. I’m ashamed to think I cheer for the same team as some of you.

We’re not anymore. It’s been decades of BS.

The main point of the OP is GOUGING!

Even proposing $750 for a $0.90 brick for a plaza is ridiculous!!!

Think about it!
You do realize the brick isn't what would provide value? One would be paying to have their name permanently in a part of the stadium. That is the value.

No, we’re tired of watching slop and overpaying for it! That’s all!
Then give up your season tix so someone like me on the waiting list can actually get some. Throw away all your Tennessee stuff and move on. I don’t get it. Either you’re in or you’re out. End of story.

Are you sure Butch Jones didn’t take them out when he was trying to build something?
