Heup should hire Sellers for 2026

I think you bring in a backup QB. Let GMac and Faiz battle it out. If you continue bringing in one year solutions, you’ll end up losing out on opportunities to recruit 5 stars.

It’s what, year 5? We’ve got to build a foundation and stop renting. Look how terrible our defense is with depth.

This isn't a slight to Aguilar, but Joey A is having a slightly better year than Milton's 2023. Unless Aguilar goes on a heater these last two games, they are going to end up around the same total TD's (27 for Milton), Aguilar will have slightly more total yards per game to Milton's, and Milton will have less turnovers than Aguilar (Milton's 5 INTs to Aguilar's 10 INTs currently)

2023 and 2025 are parallels of each other it seems.
Joey has already surpassed what Joe did with three fewer games.

Joe finished 10th in the SEC in passing yards per game

Joey is first.

Joey is averaging 300 yd per game passing. Joe averaged less than 200

Joes average was less than 200 a game. Joey hasn't thrown less than 200.

Joey has already thrown for more TDs than him as well. I guess you're including rushing touchdowns in there as well. But Joey has way more passing accolades and it's not even close

SC has been a hot mess this year. Their OL is bad, very bad. Sellers hasn't looked good but he has zero support. He could be a monster in Heupel's offense.

Yes, "hire" is the correct term here. I think Sellers will be a hot commodity, Heupel should still pull out all the stops to bring him to Knoxville for 2026.

So is GMAC not gonna be the guy next year? I’m curious bc seeing him I don’t see how he gains the weight needed to be safely compete in the sec.
I'm betting no. My guess is we go after a 1 Year rental like this past year, except we don't wait till the spring window. If Merk leaves like most think, no way in hell Heupel rolls with a RS FR, True FR and nobody else. I'd say we grab another 1 year guy like Aguilar was, then let GMac and Faizon battle it out in 26.

Reading is hard for you.

Total yards per game

When it comes to total output, Aguilar is slightly better with more turnovers.

Nothing about my original post is wrong.

Aguilar will have slightly more total yards per game to Milton's

You said Aguilar versus Milton not Tennessee versus Tennessee. Writing is hard for you

Give me the raw data. We are averaging 60 more yards per game and over a touchdown more a game.

Passing data it's not close.
Joe also had a better staple running backs.

Once again, if you give me the data and I'm wrong, I'll back down. To me, 60 more yards a game and a touchdown more as a significant upgrade. As well as going from the 10th best passing attack to the first

We are not a touchdown better. Joey thru 10 games is averaging 2.5 touchdowns per game. Milton was 2.25 touchdowns per game.

Only 2 categories Joey is beating Joe at currently are Passing Yards and Interceptions at 2x rate.

This is not hard to understand. Aguilar is having a better passing year, but from an output comparison, he's only marginally better than Milton's 8-4 year as starter.

Nope. No rejects. We went down that road and hit big. I say let the win stand and not double down
Hard to call him a reject. He was getting heisman live coming into season. Not an ideal situation where he’s at.

Not saying I want him or he’s great, just that reject is prob a stretch.

The passing game gets us into field goal range as well. We as a team are averaging 43.6 points per game. With Joe at the helm, we averaged 31.8 points per game.

Through 8 games Joe had 13 touchdowns passing

Joey has 22

I'm saying that with him getting us into field goal range

I liked Sellers last year and thought he and DJ Lagway would both have breakout seasons but this year has shown that last season was an abnormality…
I didn't think either were bad players last year but I also didn't see anything out of them to warrant the immense praise they were both getting coming into this season.

Milton had 20 passing touchdowns in 12 games. He didn’t play in the bowl game.

Come correct or don’t come at all.

Same here! We're not a touchdown better according to you even though the data says so 😉

Accidentally typed 13 twice. He threw 13 touchdowns through eight games versus Joey's 22. On the scoreboard, that's nine more touchdowns or 54 more points.

LeNorris Sellers would be a great addition for Tennessee but I highly doubt Tennessee would pay the money necessary to get him on campus for what would likely only be one season
