Thoughts on leaving Joey in so long?

It's essentially the same kind of fan who wanted to see Joey A get another 200 game AND the kind of fan who wanted to see G-Mac get reps.

Wannabe SEC coaches who probably have never even drawn up a play for a Pee Wee team.
I see what you're trying to say. Just wasn't what I was pointing out. What's wilder is that often the same fans who complain because Joey was left in, would have complained if he didn't get to get his yards. You won't convince them of that though.

Dumb how?

It’s his players her recruited that he chose not to play….he didn’t play the backups last year either.

do better than some go be a Bama logic
Don't you just like that response from posters....Go be a fan of another school....when your opinions differ. I've been a UT fan for 70 years and anyone can take go be a fan of another school and stick it up their azzes as far as I concerned.

It’s just an opinion, lol. It’s fine he doesn’t agree with it. He’s just being a spazz about it with the go be a bama fan, because he doesn’t agree. lol.

Joey A now has 10 straight games with 200+yds passing.

It took a minute today to get there.
I suggest you google better. Joey A has NEVER failed to pass for 200 yds in a game for his entire college career. No QB has ever done that in the history of the NCAA.

He was sitting at 197 after 3 qtrs because we focused on the run. Hype was NOT gonna be the coach to cost Joey that record by sitting him the whole last qtr just 3 yds short. Nor should he have. In a meaningless game, that record is bigger than the program.

Hype just showed potential future qbs that he cares about their personal accomplishments, too.

Records matter. I’m still pissed at butch for getting us our only 8 loss season.

Joey took a snap later in the game bc of field position, think we were on the four. Plan was for Merk to get some snaps but he looked like crap and we had to go to GMac.

He’s had a good story and has done a lot for the TN Football, but we shouldn’t care about a personal record. Play for next year.
That would be a sound argument if we were 3-6 going into this game. Just because we're out of the playoffs doesn't mean we should play for next year. Still much to play for this year

I didn't Google at all but recalled seeing that the number was 9, today making 10, but I'm happy to know the streak is longer.

I thought Joey might have been kept in the game because Heupel wasn't happy with the offense and wanted it to get some more game reps and get in sync better, because he was looking ahead to the next two games.

Seriously, CJH changed QB's when the time was right to do so. The only complaint that anyone could have was the last play where he was in to get his 200 yard game to maintain a streak that preceded his time at Tennessee. Had the interception been reviewed and called a catch by our tight end or the catch in the end zone that was dropped occurred, he would have already had that and would have not been in for that one play.

The game was not one of those where the offense scored enough points in the first half for the second and third team to play that much - it just wasn't that type of game.

And if a player is one play away from some record or streak or whatever, most coaches will let the player attempt to get or maintain that.

Some of you just wanted CJH to risk the rest of the season by kicking all those players who will not be playing next year to the curb and play underclassmen. Those players have worked hard to earn their starting spot on the team, and they should be allowed to take the spot they earned as long as they desire to wear the orange and take the field.
