The Senior QB is playing slightly better than our Senior QB we had in 2023. Clearly it was such a great season that a year later in 2024, people were still talking about it.

So grateful Nico had to wait 5 games until the bowl game to take over as starter to a jump on his career.

Based on your posts, I’m assuming Heup should be playing GMac or Merk the rest of the way …. Correct?

I’m not saying the bowl game is what should be mattering to people. Winning in the swamp and ruining Vandys best season ever isn’t worth anything? Some yall forget what this sport is about.

I was very clear that I would have zero issues if Heupel went to them, primarily Merk, as the starter after the OU game ended our season. Having 2 weeks to get ready for a 3 win C-USA team and a 3rd week to play a most likely 3 win Florida squad is a time window I TRUST JOSH HEUPEL to get a 4 star QB recruit prepared for.

Heupel needed 50 minutes for Aguilar to go 17/23 204 yards 2 total touchdowns 2 interceptions

That is not some great stat line that only Joey Aguilar can accomplish.

I don’t know why you don’t trust Heupel’s coaching ability.

Seems weird. But I’m sure we will all be talking about a playoff-less QB season stat line for the next 5-10 years like it’s one of the greatest seasons every in Tennessee QB history.

He is 6’6”, after I saw another closeup view he has gained a little. He has a frame to grow into. I am sure they are working on it. Hopefully he will be able to add at least 10-15 by next fall. He needs to work hard, he has all the tools. Hopefully he gets some good work during bowl preparations. GBO

TN/Heupel have settled into mediocrity this season.

After the conclusion of the season we will see whether he decides to step it up or not (retooling his staff would be a great start).

Teams are still fighting out there. Most Players have a different mentality than some fair weather fans who only follow when it’s things are rolling. Football is all about keeping fighting! GBO

I'll bet you money we will not be better on defense. If we dont make staff changes on that side of the ball I can guarantee you we won't be better on that side of the ball.

And it's very much up in the air on offense. You said, "if we get good QB play" Im not 100% sure we will. The run game will have to improve to help the passing game IMO. Running game was expected to take a step back this year with losing Sampson. But it feels like we have digressesd in the run game as the season had gone on and its now starting to affect the passing game.
