'25 Recruiting Forum: Official Tennessee versus New Mexico State Pre-game/Game Thread

This is why you close games out early and coach better. Ridiculous this game isn’t a 40 point lead already. Unreal

I mean, 25 points with 6 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter against a bad team is more than enough of a lead to play your backups. Heupel has just rarely, if ever, emptied the bench early on offense. I don’t like it, it’s just his MO. Our starters don’t need to be in the game right now.

Davis has looked like the receiver we hoped he’d be the last 2 games.
To bad he’s #2 behind someone he’s better than

None of us are super happy right now.

Like I tell mg kids, just try to enjoy where you are.
I think you can do that while also acknowledging this team, this year has only been consistent at making mistakes. And in games like this, we get away with it. In the games that have mattered most, we didn't.

And there's nothing so far that says we won't continue to be that team in the next two games, both of which are loseable.

We've proven 2 things this year imo... We can compete with anyone. And in those most competitive games we've beaten ourselves.

And it's frustrating. And the same things happen regardless of opponent.

We have to remember we are young. My frustration is not playing young players, and lines of scrimmage.
