If Shane Beamer doesn’t lose his job after that..

against CUSA/BEC schedules....UConn, Rutgers, Temple, Cincinnati, Virginia and a bunch of MAC schools.

They are a joke of a program and always have been before, during and after the dog killer and Goiter Man
Who cares, I was simply shooting down the narrative of " riding Michael Vick's coattails"
When Superman Vick was there they still played the same schedules.

What's funny is no one ever remembers if we hadn't got upset against Arky late, Tennessee at 11-1 would've made the BCS NC game vs FSU over an undefeated VT team.

That's how weak and awful their schedule was that year, and they still needed help to win a few games

Beamer's OC will go first. Could have cruised if he'd called a few screens. Wide open all 2nd half.

They already fired the OC after their last game I believe

I don't think the Cocks can necessarily pay Baby Beamer a huge buyout but if anybody comes sniffing around to take him off their hands
they will make it be known they aren't concerned with any buyout

The Beamer Fanbois are out in full force today. Keep fighting the good fight, brother!

With so many coaches being fired this year,it buys Beamer another year. His seat will be hot jumping out of the gate. They got Coastal Carolina and Clemson so they may salvage the year, but Clemson is a toss up.

Next year they will be better, good enough to get more time. Its his pattern. After he has a good year they tumble. Then he turns it around for a "good enough" year.

Don't like Beamer, but c'mon y'all. They lost by one point at 9-0 now 10-0 #3 aTm at their place.

That is the problem. You have to win games were you have 3 TDs lead.

Butch Jones was winning against Florida 3x, Alabama 1x, Oklahoma 1x, Arkansas 1x, etc. during his tenure but finds a way to lose the game. That is the hallmark of a bad coach. They don't take advantage of the games they are winning.

I remember that. Their star DB, Corey Moore, was on Gameday talking trash about the Vols that morning saying how we were crybabies for saying we deserved to be in the BCS National Championship game and how we should quit crying because we lost our chance after losing to Florida when it sounded like he was the one crying about the situation.

Then, several hours later, Arkansas beat us late and upset us, causing us to lose our shot at repeating as National Champions. However, I remember thinking, "We better not overlook the Hogs or look far ahead. I knew that Arkansas felt like that we ruined their season the year before and watching us celebrate winning the National Championship left a bitter taste in their mouth." They were going to be ready to get their revenge on us. And that, they did.

Virginia Tech went 53–19 in the six seasons before Vick became the starting quarterback, including two 10-win seasons. The program had never won 10 games in a season before Frank Beamer was hired. In the eleven seasons after Vick, they went 110–37 with nine double digit win seasons. Va Tech hadn’t won a conference title since the early 1960s. Beamer won 7 of them, with only one of those coming with Vick as the starting QB. So no, Beamer did not ride the coattails of Michael Vick.
I grew up in Roanoke and VPI as everyone called them then (60s/70s)was covered more in basketball than football. Vick put them on the national scene, but be honest, in the Big East where these wins were achieved, Miami was the big dog, and were VPI’s “Daddy”.

You're exactly right. Without Frank Beamer, they're not a power 4 team right now. He put that school on the map and its crazy to argue anything to the contrary.

They're pretty high up in all time wins. But of course 60 years of those wins they were independent.

Never liked Beamer, he's always been cocky and he's never really done anything, couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

I couldn’t stand Frank and yes I met him a few times, Shane isn’t his dad
