College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

contrast last year to this year. The SEC dominated the pre conference with a stupid winning percentage.
This year 3 of the top 4 sec teams have already lost a game.
And I got time for that 😁

Another 27 points last night. Kid's averaging almost 24 ppg, so far. Even more impressive is that hes doing it while shooting 68% from the field as a SG.

Yep. He’s been going off. Going to always be a huge “what if” for me. You slot him in at the 2 on this team, that’s a Final Four/National Champion caliber starting 5. He’s been electric. Really seems to be the missing piece.

I guess we’ll never know the full story of what happened. I just wish it didn’t have to fall apart.

I was guilty of harassing the kid and the belief he was a future lottery pick as was purported 18 months ago, mostly because it was based in nothing we had seen on the court. If there was any way to salvage his Tennessee career (not sure there was), I wish he had just been patient and waited 6 months. As you said, he's exactly what this team is missing.

His atheletic ability is off the the chart …

He showed signs here… not everybody mentioned those flashes but he’s a prime example of sometimes it ain’t on anybody. He wasn’t buying into D first and a little freedom on O. He’s built for a let me be free to O and play D when I’m hot on O. And he’ll probably make more $$ in his career do it. Good on him

We will see how he does against quality teams.

Be curious to see how he does against Creighton.

One big 3 against Creighton and a career high 8 points against Vandy as a freshman are the only notable moments I recall. But I agree, there seemed to be some untapped potential that remained untapped due to what you accurately described as a difference in philosophies.

10-4. My notables also don’t equal numbers. I’m just speaking to the flashes of athleticism and smoothness to the game.

Did anybody see the injury to Maryland's Pharrell Payne last night? That looked horrible. He was a very good player for A&M last year.

Two things cannot both be true:

-Kentucky has a 22 million dollar roster, most expensive in basketball
-Kentucky was unable to attract a back up point guard in either recruiting or the portal.

from Rupp's Rafters:

"Yes. I was baffled that Pope seemed to go after every talented big out there but didn't seem worried about the PG spot if Lowe got hurt. Now we have 3(talented no doubt) 2 guards who are going to have to learn to be lead guard during the season."

Auburn played that as well as they could have. Really excited for the game on the 25th, I know things haven't been drubbing after drubbing to start the season but the game against Houston feels more winnable than it did a few hours ago.
