Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

What are the odds we can keep Jeremias Heard, Bennett Warren and Max Anderson?
Which one is ahead of the other in terms of depth chart? I feel like we see Warren more in games not counting his PAT team lead actor role.

Does one of them start next year if Lance Heard goes to the NFL or does Perry stay at RT and Sanders goes to LT and they stay as backups?

Not many win at Autzen. TN would lose by 2 scores. It’s a much louder environment than UGA and Bama, both. I can’t compare to the Swamp or aTm but it’s crazy loud at Oregon. Ohio state lost to them last yr regular season.
Wisconsin lost 21-7 to them in Autzen. Oregon is not that great this year.

Indiana beat Oregon on the road. They are damn good.
There good
Let them
Play bama Georgia or A&M before we crown them
Have them Play in Knoxville or play Oklahoma or Texas back to back to back with vandy and lsu in Baton Rouge then have to play a trap game in Lexington before they play ole miss

Big 10 is down this year

even more reason to have a 64 team division of football........
Get rid of playing G5 and FCS teams.

Make it exactly like the NFL. Win your division and your in.

Its impossible to have equal schedules. Even the NFL is unbalanced. "Bad" teams win their weak divisions and get into the playoffs every year.
Fans don't complain about schedules in the NFL.

I would think Warren fills our open tackle spot next year?
I would be surprised if Sanders isn’t starting LT and Perry starting RT next year. I don’t think Perry is a G personally. Would like to see Warren and J Heard hand around and be top backups at those positions. Max Anderson has been solid in spot duty I think. Ogumora looks athletic but doesn’t know what he’s doing yet.

Where is Ginther? Don’t hear much about that guy
Be shocked if Grant isn’t gone after this year. Satterwhite needs to get a lot better. Pendleton does too honestly.

Kinda crazy to take a step back and look at Indiana... so if they are as good as advertised, how in the heck are they pulling this off with the recruiting classes they've had over the past 4 years? Folks looked at ohst and TN last season in the playoff and said the talent gap and NIL money spent was a big reason for the outcome...

Many say you have to have a consistent top 5 class to compete for championships... this math doesn't add up for teams like Indy... Are they just getting coached and developed at a much higher level than other teams? If so, Cig should be the most wanted man in the country...

Then you can look at us and see we have three times the talent via recruiting services than Indy, but are having trouble all over the field making mistakes, poor tackling and mechanics, penalties, etc, and should have two more W's at this point. Sure we play in a tougher conference and have much more difficult matchups on a weekly basis, but if Indy is that good, then by the math/reasoning some are using, they should dominate our conference as well with half the overall talent...

Guess we'll see soon enough if Cig is pulling this off or if they are a paper tiger and get exposed right out of the gate...
Look at their schedule and tell me they’ve been challenged. Oregon is their toughest game and they won before the season by not drawing OSU. Let’s see how the championship game goes then we can talk about what you’re saying.

You're pretty much saying everyone in college football sucks except for Ohio State and who? Alabama and UGA?

Explain how it's easy to go win at Oregon lol
I truly despise when it gets to this level.

"Unless you blow everyone out by 4+ TDs, then you suck". What are we even doing at that point?

They’re not gonna win a NC this year. But they are miles better than they used to be and Cig is one of the most wanted coaches in football.
The most reasonable take I've seen on them. They are legit. But the lack of legit (across the board) talent + depth will limit them. In the very old 1 vs 2 format, I dare say they'd have a small shot in a 1-on-1 winner takes all game in a year no one looks unbeatable.

I agree Indiana probably won't win National Championship but those saying that Indiana would be in the slum bottom of SEC with Kentucky is a weird statement...
Honest assessment: they’d be an 9-10 win team if they played the same schedule we played. I still say they have yet to truly be tested outside of Oregon.
