Just finished reading "Last of the Boomers" by Neel Elliott. It's a well-written unbiased historical fiction about the lives of 4 siblings born in the "baby boomer" years, delving into the events that shaped our lives and made us who we are. I highly recommend it for "Boomers" and their children (so they can better understand how our lives were shaped by the events of that era).

Boomers suck

I hate age-gap warfare. Lots of hypocrisy, it's kind of useless, and divisive, but I will say...

Boomers oversaw a massive decline in responsible government as they've had control over the last 50 years of US history, basically. They refuse to relinquish control over a government that has been a complete circus for 9 straight years, and then they have the nerve to **** all over millennials and gen Z, as they themselves flip flop on socialist ideas, free trade, free speech, the role of government, etc.

Boomers did so much for society with the arts and culture, in building the anti-war movement (which failed, but at least no more draft), environmental conservation, equality, etc. They have a lot to be proud of. I am all for boomer nostalgia. I love my Dad's stories. But Boomers...you're not helping anymore. Your peers are falling asleep at the wheel. They're too old for this. Please help us move on.

The book sounds great!

Yeah I'm all for the generation taking over that thinks Europe is one of the best countries in the world. Or that the United States is the worst country in America. Or that they need a passport becuase they are leaving the US and moving to Hawaii. There's a reason boomers have trouble letting go.

Edit: My biggest hope for the kids that are supposed to be taking over is the kid that thinks strawberry milk is vegan because it's from strawberries and not cows.

The oldest Boomers were only 25 when the EPA was established. Nixon established it because there was a problem that everybody agreed on of dumping **** into the waterways and the air. Now both extremes don’t work solve problems like illegal immigration and violent protests and managing the economy and affordable healthcare - they attempt to score political capital by blaming the other side of the aisle.

Proud APSU grad.

I meant primary education considering how many don't attend college and/or quit.
I know. Just thought it was funny cause I knew where you went. Oddly them measely ole Jackson County kids fare out pretty well educating post HS. An inordinate amount being raised by grandparents though. That seems to be everywhere though. The meth generation don't raise their own kids.

Who taught those “kids”?
