Can we please stop any playoff talks.

Why does anyone care what bowl we are going to be in? It's nothing but a glorified spring game now.
Because I only get to watch Tennessee play football 12 days out of 365. 13 if we’re lucky, 14 if we’re really lucky and so on. Yes, it’s frustrating that we’re not where we want to be this season, but I’m gonna do my best to enjoy the times that I get to watch or go to the games.

Why does the thread starter worry about what others talk about? There are a lot more stupid threads than that. If you don’t like it don’t read it. Most folks realize it’s a very long shot. But it’s a message board, again it isn’t as bad as a lot of the other drivel on here. GBO

Just like the NFL, it's fun in the last three or four weeks of the season to see who plays themselves in and who plays themselves out, even if your team isn't really in the running.

As far as bowl game for UT, I don't know if Duke's Mayo would want UT since we played in Charlotte in the kick off game this year, but they might because of brand recognition.
Citrus against Miami would be cool as well to get exposure in that recruiting area.

My ideal bowl game would see Joey A start and regardless of big lead or not, see G Mac the entire second half.

In the new world of college football playoff or bust, the next best thing is being right on the edge of the top 12. Sure, we aren't making it this year but give me all the chaos imaginable over the next few weeks and hopefully we take care of business in the last two games. Let's see just how close we can get..

I hate the fact that the CFP has all but destroyed bowl games. They are nearly meaningless - especially those without historical name recognition. I do think the student athletes (along with their parents) probably enjoy the experience of travel and travel (spending) money for the athletes.

This is the most sensible post I’ve read…be careful they’ll kick you out for making sense

Chance at a 10 win season is still a good season...we weren't making the playoffs this year but some had it in their head and are now pissing and moaning, 8-4 9-3 was what most who actually saw what we had in this team before the season predicted best case scenario and its still achievable, I'll never scoff at a double digit winning season

Glass half empty guy, huh?

How about the Casey Clausen win at Miami to snap their 26-game home winning streak.
Yeah, and that punt fumble recovery too. Not sure if we started the downfall of Miami or if we were just on the front end of it. Would have been more valuable had we won on our homecoming the year before.

We lost to Oklahoma. We have 3 losses.
Please get over it. Let’s talk what bowl we are going to at least.
Well we're football fans so we talk football not just the Vols...plus who really thought we were a playoff team coming in to the season??....answer nobody who has any sense and the ones that thought so are now crying

Because we enjoy watching the Vols play anywhere and anytime - but especially when and where it is warm. If the bowl is in Florida, we will go and make it a mini-vacation in the middle of winter. Not only do I care, I am really looking forward to it.

There’s more to it than just the game. It actually is a great practice opportunity. Better to go to a bowl than not go to a bowl. We usually go because it’s a blast. So many Tennessee fans and fans from the other team we are playing all gathering in a usually cool place and having a big time. Get a little fun in your life. Go to a ball game. Have a beer. Relax.
Exactly! And if Faizon Brandon is an early enrollee he might be able to get some practice reps in…be great to have all the guys competing for the QB job next fall to get a couple of weeks of bowl practice.

And a bowl game becomes a typical mini vacation, hopefully somewhere warm late in the year without having to worry about saving money because you may have to travel quite a lot in December and January.

I loved going to the playoff game last year (until we lost), but all the what if we win then win again then win again thoughts of where in world am I going to get that type of money to go to every game made me realize that I was going to have to gamble on results week to week on which games to go to and which to watch at home and hope for a victory.
