Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

You would think this common practice for anyone willing to digest the load of crap coming through their social media feed each day. And yet…

This is why I don’t have social media anymore. VN is as close as I get.

I saw some research that said how many are getting their news through social media these days. I am scared for our country. And the world.

F’ing sheeple.
Really, though it just means I now have to do the same vetting of anything I see here that I do on my Twitter feed. Extra step, but still my responsibility.

I heard a rumor that was posted on an On3 board I can't access that said LSU hired a PI to dig up dirt on Kelly to justify firing him for cause. I know it's a lot of money, but just bite the bullet. Every additional day you fight this your job becomes less-attractive to any potential coach. You are already going to have to give a coach the sort of contract the governor just lambasted publicly to attract anyone worth their salt. And how are they to know that when it comes time for LSU to pay that buyout, they won't do the exact same thing they are doing with Kelly? It's SUCH hubris! Self-sabotage.
I believe it.

I seriously doubt hiring a PI to dig up dirt on Kelly after LSU already fired him is going to prevail in court anyway. LSU has handled this process as poorly as it could possibly be handled. Now they'll have to pay PI fees in addition to Kelly's $53 million.

College coaching contracts need to come with an out based on coaching record. Universities aren't actually paying coaches to coach. They're paying them to win. Win-loss record should be "cause" IMO. College coaches already get paid too damn much.

In the case of Brian Kelly, though, a signed contract is a signed contract. LSU was stupid enough to put themselves in this position. While I think Kelly is robbing them blind, they enabled it through their own stupidity. So pay up.

It’s astounding that so many of you will believe anything you see if it’s what you want to believe. You have zero ability to tell fact from fiction. Yall post something fake every day.
Are you accusing me of not actually being a Yeti????!!!

Yeah that's an insane plan.

But, this idea that that they fired him and thought "We don't have this money but whatever, we'll figure something out" is equally insane. So who knows.

I get we blew our chance at playoffs but the rankings show that losing to three playoff teams is still going to hurt you worse than being Virginia and barely beating everyone on your schedule with two losses or a loss to a sub par team and no real big wins. The nine game SEC schedule is going to eat the league alive.

Yep
It helped other conferences way more then it helped ourselves

Had a pristine '90 4 Runner. Plan was to baby it, until the head gasket...

Wouldve let my kids drive it. Damn shame.

Ive looked around for a truck just to put miles on and go to Mts with. But this is rich man's world.
Had 1990 4Runner, blew a head gasket. Loved that vehicle. Now own a 2004 4Runner with 211,000 miles and I have put all of them on it but 23,000. Also own a 2013 limited 4Runner with 170,000

Iowa and Tennessee are the only 3 loss teams in the poll. Look at the résumé’s and tell me who has the better one. They have closer losses to the top 10 teams they’ve played but a much worse third loss.
