Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Bama was the 4th most penalized team in SEC last year.

UK and Mizzou are the 2 least penalized teams this year.

A&M is undefeated, and so it would behoove the conference to help clear their path to playoff, yet they are the 4th most penalized team in the SEC this year.

It’s poop all across the board.
I understand and is why I say that rational me thinks it would be almost impossible to pull off. But, this year I have seen some things that gave me pause. Specifically the Auburn-Georgia game. Something almost had to be going on in that game. It was even in the review process. I hate the blame the referee narrative as personal bias clearly causes humans to view things with that bias. It just seems to have hit a new level this year and with the way they have embraced gambling it makes one wonder when watching a game. As far as the amount of penalties on each team I really don't think that says a whole lot. When and what you call is how you can really impact a game as an official. I personally hate that I even wonder about it watching games but it is getting harder to just explain away as pure incompetence. I also hate the conspiracy theory narrative. I do hate Bama with a burning passion so will acknowledge that I never watch them without extreme bias.

This is arguably the first year in quite some time that I couldn’t actually tell you who the best team in college football is. Ohio State has yet to truly be tested, Indiana has played a pretty mid schedule, Bama is not that great, nor is UGA, Ole Miss has just been lucky, A&M is maybe the one I could argue for, but then you see this statistic. Postseason should be a lot of fun.
