What is the best college coaching job?

Ohio State bankrolls a recruiting machine. As proof, just look at them flipping 6 recruits in the past month, including a Tennessee commitment. No school was more elated to see NIL / player payments than the Buckeyes. In a game of money, they will always have the numbers -- and it was stupid of everyone else to let the sport become what it is, because no one will ever outspend them. Stupid, stupid, stupid. No one was ever going to outspend them. Larger alumni networks, more millionaires, more money to access and spend. If the game is only about money, then the biggest pots of money are gonna win more often than not.

Add in the Ohio State high school systems which feed into Columbus, and you have an entire state working in lock step to accomplish one goal - the dominance of the school football program. Between that and the money, well, good luck.
If they are the big tree, then we are the small axe.

Not joking at all. It used to be the University of Kentucky. Now it’s very hard to tell.

It is hard for me to think of a better job than winning 8-10 games each year and always in the Playoff picture at Ole Miss.
Can their NIL maintain what they are successfully doing? IDK, but that is a cushy spot as long as their donors can keep up.

Firm what I’m hearing Texas Tech wants to be king of the NIL crown. Starting to show a little on their recruiting too.

Nearly everybody in the business shockingly says LSU if not #1 is in the top 3 or 4. I do not get it.

Talent close to campus. Florida, Mississippi, Texas and Alabama as well as instate. Recruiting should not be hard. Comes down to the right coach and staff. Easy top 5 job and certain coaches could make it look like number 1. That's why they had that record of coaches winning a title until BK screwed it off..

You have valid points, but the Buckeyes seldom really get tested until late in the year.

Quite honestly, Michigan beating them up in the season finale last year saved their season.

Hated those morons since I began watching CFB and honestly did so for no real reason. Had no clue about the school or anything-just decided one day they weren't cool and that was that lol

They have virtually always fielded "soft" teams. Smack them in the mouth and they get real quiet real quick.

I want to say being the HC at Tennessee right now, but I can't. I would say that Ohio State would be the best coaching job to have right now. Ryan Day is killing it with all the NIL cash the boosters up in Columbus have handed to him at his disposal. To the ones that are vacant and are open, that'd be LSU. If they get the right coach to come to the Rouge, then he will have a great gig there for sure. Florida used to be the one most would say was the best. However, they are not as able to recruit the way they used to and are not the juggernaut they once were.

I’m shocked that anyone needed this spelled out for them. Which of you didn’t know it was always about the talent?

Texas Tech has a HUGE recruiting disadvantage. If you have never been there, you probably can't even imagine. It's a freaking desert--frequent dust storms. I was flying out of Lubbock once as a dust storm approached. Hundreds of feet above ground, dust infiltrated the cabin. You could taste it. The few trees on the landscape closely surrounded peoples' homes to protect them from the windstorms. I can't imagine a worst place to go to college.

3 of their last 4 coaches won national titles there. Including Ed Orgeron of all people. there clearly is some benefit at LSU.

They have a sneaky good recruiting talent pool, and no instate rival. 4 in the top 100, 7 in the Top 150, with 10 4 stars overall.

Close by to Texas recruiting, and closer than a lot of the SEC to Florida.

the Local kids are loyal too. even without a head coach on a down year, 6 of the Top 10 are committed to LSU.

fans are supportive. one of the best atmospheres in the sport, established history, current stars in the NFL.

😂 The right amount of NIL would make the dust bowl thing a mere inconvenience I’m guessing. Never been to Lubbock but the state of Texas is nice…mostly.
