Thank you for your service brother! I’ve been to Shaw Afb numerous times used to be tactical air command and home of the F-16 Myrtle beach was also TAC but we had A-10 warthogs my favorite plane of all time. In desert storm the Iraqis were scared to death of that 30 mm gatlin gun.

When I first got to Shaw, a buddy of mine got Myrtle Beach for his first base. They A-7s then. Shaw had RF-4Cs.

Yeah that’s going back some time back in the early seventies! I got to Myrtle beach in 1983 and they had three squadrons of A-10s the 354th my squadron 355 and 356th I was in civil engineering and then volunteered for Red horse witch is the elite engineering combat group of the USAF we usuallly occupied and built a base before anyone. Else go there we also did triple R which minis runway repair not bragging Billy I can drive any heavy equipment ever made! We all trained on it no matter your AFSC oh the memories! I remember the F-4 phantoms loud as hell!
