There is such a small amount of Rev share allocated to the combination of BB and WBB, it’s virtually immaterial to hope for getting a bit more of the slice. The key is more thru the collective which Kim has the ability to influence thru charm, networking and winning.Speaking of baseball. Maybe the LVs can get some of the baseball NIL cash?
Is that the way NIL money works after the House settlement? Can a coach have that much influence? What about businesses that go directly to athletes and sign deals, even while they are still in high school? I know the school controls the revenue share, but how much say do they have on NIL?The key is more thru the collective which Kim has the ability to influence thru charm, networking and winning.
Businesses can cut deals with the athlete. Must be approved by the third party clearinghouse. Spyre can also connect the player with marketing deals. It is best done with the big time player like Edwards that is attractive to sponsors. Adidas can also participate with specific players and made some commitments as part of getting the apparel deal.Is that the way NIL money works after the House settlement? I’m just saying that a supporter that is enamored by the coach or excited about the team can be influenced to do marketing deals as a way of being supportive.Still not clear how much say/influence a coach has. And hasn't CKC said she tries to let others handle that? Is that possible?
But thanks for the info. Did know about the clearinghouse. Will be interesting to see how much effect that has and if it holds up to pressure, legal and otherwise
Apparently that holds true even with supporters giving smaller donations. It's exactly what Kelle Harper ran into here, She could get support for star transfers through the portal much easier than for high school players. Common sense, everyone wants their money to go toward a proven quantity. Some schools are rumored to be giving certain players a million dollars. That is a big gamble to do that with a freshman would more likely rather do that with a top portal player that has totally proven their ability to play at this level.
If the LVs land Crittendon, that should place them in the top 3, possibly the top 2. GBO.
Don’t listen to the me paywall sites right now. if Coach Caldwell wants Crittendon then she will close the deal! No Skim or on3 predictions can leak inside info from this LV program. CKC runs a tight ship!
GBO.
Thought I heard back some time ago we recruited her boyfriend to play here and we would take him as a transfer. With the coaching change it could happen. As sometime that married their high school sweetheart, I expect the boyfriend may be impossible to overcome. If it were just a business decision, CKC would have her locked down.
Gotta think like an early investor -- you're going to have misses, but good scouting and quantity will pay off in a quality product in the long run.Apparently that holds true even with supporters giving smaller donations. If it was impossible to overcome, we would have Jazzy Davidson in Knoxville, since she’s dating a Tennessee player. Maybe she will transfer here next season to be with him.As sometime that married their high school sweetheart, I expect the boyfriend may be impossible to overcome. If it were just a business decision, CKC would have her locked down.
