And if you believe nobody can take anything good away from their early performances because of the competition than to be fair you probably should not be able to take anything good away from the LV’s game today either, which is far from the truth as we all know.Against a JUCO caliber schedule. I don’t take anything serious on this forum.
#9 What ?The real game is UT Martin vs Tennessee in front of a sold out crowd.
This game is to honor the greatest women’s basketball coach of all-time Coach Pat Summitt!
The Lady Vols are the most historic WBB program in history of the sport.
CKC has restored the LVs to prominence.. a top 5 roster featuring POY candidate Talaysia Cooper, the #1 transfer portal class and #1/#2 high school recruiting class in 2025 has been raved about during the entire game so far by the game announcers.
UT Martin 28 Tennessee 20
This is their national championship game today! Tennessee is on the road to #9.
Lets see how the Lady Vols bounce back after a tough 1 and half quarters!
GBO!
Today they played like a team that would have a hard time making the NCAA tournament. 22 turnovers and an 11 point win against a team that is expected to finish sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference this year is not a good look. Don't matter how good the transfer class is or the recruiting class is or that we have a POY candidate if the coaching staff is putting a product on the floor that looked like Tennessee did today. They have a lot of work to do.The real game is UT Martin vs Tennessee in front of a sold out crowd.

i think what's worrisome is last year around this time they looked great -players had bought into the system and they were getting tons of shots up. chemistry was there. this year chemistry looks lacking and i don't know who the leaders are. the good news is there's time to get things together. biggest issue on offense is it doesn't look like there are set plays and the guards can't seem to get the ball into the paint.Today they played like a team that would have a hard time making the NCAA tournament. 22 turnovers and an 11 point win against a team that is expected to finish sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference this year is not a good look. well to be fair we had an experienced group last year. we had players who had played together previously. we have 8 newcomers this year, and you’re definitely seeing those growing pains. it’ll get betteri think what's worrisome is last year around this time they looked great -players had bought into the system and they were getting tons of shots up. chemistry was there. this year chemistry looks lacking and i don't know who the leaders are. the good news is there's time to get things together. biggest issue on offense is it doesn't look like there are set plays and the guards can't seem to get the ball into the paint.
100% totally fair. i'm not panicking either. there's time to work on things and that's what these games are for. i almost don't like how expectations are for final four. i would like to see boyd and latham get more comfortable.well to be fair we had an experienced group last year. we had players who had played together previously. we have 8 newcomers this year, and you’re definitely seeing those growing pains. it’ll get better
agreed. was hoping latham and boyd would take a step up. boyd is aggressive and a great defender. i love when she’s in. i think latham is way too passive. i really hope she fixes that because she could be so good.100% totally fair. i'm not panicking either. there's time to work on things and that's what these games are for. i almost don't like how expectations are for final four. i would like to see boyd and latham get more comfortable.
But last year, everyone was a newcomer to the coaches and the system. Plus several of the players last year, as we were told endlessly all summer, weren’t athletically suited to the system.well to be fair we had an experienced group last year. we had players who had played together previously. we have 8 newcomers this year, and you’re definitely seeing those growing pains. it’ll get better
Difference IMO is last years team had seasoned leaders on the floor. Tess, Sara,, Jewel & Samara cannot be replaced in leadership. This team has no experienced leaders, Cooper is a great player but not a leader. I'm sure some of the freshman will be great leaders but not this year IMO. That will be the bane of this team. JMO.But last year, everyone was a newcomer to the coaches and the system. Plus several of the players last year, as we were told endlessly all summer, weren’t athletically suited to the system.
But that team played much better out of the gate.
Of course it’s early and there’s still plenty of time, but you’d have to say that the chemistry and buy in is not where it was last year at this point. Chemistry is hard, probably a harder part of coaching than the x and os. It’s elusive and can change so much from team to team. So far this year it doesn’t seem that CKC has a handle on it.

That seemed to be more physical burnout last year, dead legs. Not as much chemical. They never seem to lack for buy in or chemistry last year, which was amazing given the circumstances. And a huge credit to Kim. Maybe it was leadership from some vets who had been LVs for a long time as mentioned above.. BTW, that's the same players that got slammed so hard for not being athletically up to the system. It's just hard to get everything going at the same time. But I'm sure this team will. And then we looked awful at the end of February/beginning of March. Hoping we see the opposite trend this seasons. Start a little rough and work into form and get clicking by the end of conference play.
Last years team was completely burned out after the win against UConn.

I'm sad that Kaiya Wynn seems to be so marginalized. She always seemed to have great leadership potential. But it's hard to do that when you've taken on Edie Darby type mascot status.
