Die Hard is a Christmas Movie

Shots fired????? WTF???

I like what I like. If you don't, oh well.

It's no big deal, but I'm saying you insulted half the country with your synapses comment. Just teasing you a little for that.

My favorite non Christmas Christmas movies are probably Just Friends, Gremlins, In Bruges, and Iron Man 3 .

Here's what I want to know....why doesn't It's a Wonderful Life get **** for not being a Christmas movie? It happens on Christmas Eve. It's about one guy finding happiness in relationships and community. It's wholesome, but it's so light on the actual Christmas side of things. Only a tiny bit of Christmas music. A tiny bit of iconography. It's part of the story, but it could be Easter. It doesn't even have to be happening on a holiday, and it barely seems like it is.

The entirety of Die Hard happens at a Christmas party. The movie is filled with Christmas music, iconography, references to Christmas in dialogue, Christmas-themed jokes about murder, etc. 😄

Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, Home Alone, It’s A Wondeful Life, Scrooged, Die Hard and yes Love Actually. Can’t wait to catch $hit about Love Actually, but yes it’s a good movie. At least IMO .

Love Actually is a good watch if your turn your brain off. If you really think about it, basically every relationship in the movie is very problematic, lol.

Yeah, it's pretty damning that the guy who only cared about sex and the couple who fall in love staging porno scenes have the healthiest relationships in the whole movie.

Good call on the TV episodes.

I watch Christmas movies/shows every year, but the only one that I make sure to watch every holiday is Always Sunny in Philly's Christmas special, and we watch it after the kids go to bed on X eve while we set up. We usually double-feature that with Bad Santa.

Bruce said it wasn’t. I dunno.

Anyone find it harder each year to find time to watch all your traditional movies? I totally missed out on some this year.

100% a Christmas movie
No, its not. Bruce said it isnt, and his perspective counts the most! The movie could have taken place at any other time of year and its the same movie. Christmas, as a holiday, is not essential to the plot whatsoever.

I just thought of a Christmas movie I'm not sure has been mentioned here in a while. The Ref with Dennis Leary. I hadn't thought of it in forever. I remembered really liking it, but also if it's good why did everybody forget about it? IMDb has a solid rating. I'll pull this one up next year during the holidays.
