Democratic Socialism - The Future of Our Country?

I believe that it means the government can tax to provide for the "general welfare" of the united states as long as it is applied equally across the country.

That’s not remotely what it meant. If you truly believe that, why was a constitutional amendment required over 100 years later to actually tax people?

Evidently you haven’t. That’s a pretty broad statement.

And a statement that had nothing to do with buying things for the people, but rather for overseeing the welfare of the federal government.

We are currently in a Democratic Socialist political system supported by a capitalistic economic system.
I want to reverse that trend of DS. Others want to hasten it. If you want it, fund it privately. No one is stopping anyone from pooling their resources to make others secure and "happy".

Here’s the issue MacDaddio.

Most that clamor for this utopia of a democratic socialist society have no skin in the game. They’re not writing a check to the government every April.

Yes, yes it is. Which would make your belief that taxation is constitutionally restricted to "basic service and infrastructure" be incorrect.

You can find plenty of examples of republicans complaining about the bailouts. Pretending otherwise is a joke.
Rand Paul and Massey don't count since you guys constantly threaten to unseat them for not being MAGA enough for you.

You had no issues using CHIPS subsidies to prop up Biden a couple of years ago...

Incorrect.

Especially with a company like TSMC who's best interest it is to move production outside of Taiwan given that China will most assuredly invade them before the end of the decade.

Here was you carrying the water for the Biden admin for those noted Taiwanese firms Intel and Samsung...

Not a peep from you with the hundreds of billions of subsidies+ with IRA

Either you are for corp welfare or against it. It shouldnt depend on the admin giving it out...

Especially if Harris gets in office. The Biden admin loved China

Guess what else those countries have or don't have that figure into that "happiness"?

Also some of those countries have citizens that define getting C+ healthcare paid for free as happy, because they've never experienced better, which is why this is flawed to begin with.

If I grew up as a Louisiana Monroe football fan, and never experienced being a Tennessee fan, I would accept being 8-4 in the Sun Belt and having 22k fans in a stadium as being "happy and content" but I'd never have an actual clue how much better it is at Tennessee all the way around if I didnt experience it myself
You should probably get out and travel more, my friend.

I've travelled all over and I know what I am talking about...

Healthcare in Norway or Canada or Finland is average to above average in terms of technology, wait time, follow up etc.
