He’s one of the best defensive line coaches ever. He’s never been a coordinator, so at this point in his career, that would be a huge risk for someone to take on. It’s hard for me to see him being successful as a head coach at a P4 program. He might make sense at Oregon State or an AAC school if a job opens up. But save one year at LSU, when he had one of the greatest teams of all time, he’s never really done much as a HC.

One of the best recruiters of the 21st century. DLine credentials are impeccable.
He was a disaster at Ole Miss, but left the roster with talent for Houston Nutt.

Orgeron participated with Lane in trying to steal their final recruiting class and take to USC. Mike Hamilton insanely hired Dooley so it would not matter either way. I don't believe I would trade Rodney or Chop for Ed with the Vols but he could fit in again with Kiffin somewhere. I enjoyed the guy and he certainly should be rested up.

He can recruit. I could see him doing well at ULM or LA Tech or some directional Louisiana school.

But as a D line coach, he can just about name his job. I would rather keep Garner, but most schools would fire their D line coach tomorrow to get Ed O.
