It's not time to fire CJH nor is it time to extend him. But next year he needs to get serious about beating his competition in the SEC. Next year may not be the time either but 2027 needs to be a special year or White needs to get somebody in here that can win titles. This is the start of November and we have 5 total wins including cream puffs.

This is yet another part of the cycle when you know your coach is getting fired in a year. The pumpers first complain about fictional people calling for his immediate firing, then they start demanding an extension for a disappointing performance.

“After what he took over and what he’s managed to do, I’d give him a lifetime contract” has been uttered about Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt after failures. Now Heupel is getting similar faux shows of confidence.

The only names I’ve ever seen proposed by that crowd are Kiffin and Golesh, lol. They are never able to make an actual list, and either go with those two or just say “I don’t know, it isn’t my job!”…. Perhaps the most pathetic cop out imaginable.

Kiffin, the jury is still out on whether he even is better than Heupel. As of right now, he hasn’t reached the CFP yet, and if he does get there this season, he could very well lose his game as badly as Heupel lost to OSU. So there’s zero reason to think he’d do substantially better as of right now, and that’s not even getting into the fact that he’ll probably be at a better job by this time next year.

Golesh, believe me, I’m one of his biggest fans-but firing Heupel for him would be idiotic. I’m not even going to humor it lol.

Richt had accomplished more and he was replaced by the guy that’s currently the best coach in football. We’d be crazy to expect better than Heupel if Dave Hart was still running the show, but Danny White has seemed pretty competent.

I also want him to stop pi$$ing away big opportunities on the field.

Both can be true at once. I think Heupel is a good coach and leader for our program. The decision(s) regarding extensions, etc. are tough ones. I trust DW to navigate that minefield.

Go 7-5…DW will not address it. Rescue a 9-3 season, DW will add a year, probably a bonus built in there for the number of wins and a bowl game anyway. Not sure about a bump in pay.

Nobody else is having too much luck against him, either. Saban was about the only guy that beat him consistently.
