New coach is already getting way more out of players that looked totally checked out last season.

That Arkansas environment had been toxic for several years and you could tell it was weighing on all of them.

Well, if anyone (me) was expecting UAlbany to play another tough game against Syracuse, they’ll be sadly disappointed.

Syracuse is currently leading 59-25 with 6 minutes left in the game. Syracuse has completely dominated on both ends of the floor. Hard to say if they’re really playing that good or if UAlbany is just really bad this year.

Edit: now 61-31 with under 5 to go.

Let me drop a small shoutout to Otto, the Syracuse mascot. “He” came and sat beside me for a little while and was going around play interacting with the crowd all game like usual. It’s such a goofy costume, you can always tell the people in it are having fun.

If South Carolina stays healthy they’ll be so hard to beat. Okot was the perfect big for them to pick up. Key to vesting them will be getting her in foul trouble.

Dauda and TAC seem pretty decent when they replace her. Edwards is the one not replaceable. Raven playing the best ball of her career so far, I hope it holds up for her, she is notoriously streaky on offense but one of my favorite players all time for SC, great young lady. Biggest smile always.

She must be near the top of the nation in assists so far. And she has to be one of the top rebounding PG’s in WBB this year also, she is working so hard for her last season. In spite of her low offensive stats for her career, she really shows her worth running a team. One of the smoothest point guards in the nation handling the ball in my opinion and her defense is AA good. She will be missed after this year.

UCLA does look good, Kneepkens was such a great addition to that team. Texas plays them in an early tournament, and if the Bruins win that game SC will likely play them. I’m not sure yet how dominant UCLA is, but I suspect we will know after those games. I believe they are a #1 seed/final four team.

The younger Betts, Sienna, has not even played yet, she will crack the top 6-7 in that lineup this year once she returns. She was one of the top recruits last cycle and I have watched her play a bunch, she is really good.

N Kentucky up by 5 points 32-27
It’ll be interesting to see how Louisville progresses this season.

LSU is not anywhere close to being as good as last season. They have the weakest non-conference schedule you will find for a Top 10 team.

LSU is better than last season. In almost every category. They might be one of the best shooting teams in the country, and nobody plays much faster. They are going to be a problem this year, for everyone. Not unbeatable good, but teams will need to catch them on an off shooting day.

Btw Knox, their OOC schedule strength is nothing new, people have been predicting they aren’t all that for years based upon that metric, and yet….Fulwiley is playing very well and freshman Z Johnson might be freshman of the year in the SEC. Koval and Joyner, the two post players are solid. F Johnson and M Williams are at the top of their games so far also. Looks real in spite of competition.
