Glv98, thanks for taking the high road in this discussion. It is hard to see your argument go up in a puff of smoke but sometimes you have just take a deep inhale, let the buzz of enlightenment fill your mind, and not be a doob about it.

Anyway, I came across this article from Business Insider no less that gives a visual representations of the standard pot amounts sold at dispensaries.

We all had our days madtown....1981. Stationed at pensacola florida.. Naval air station.... We used to meet at panama city beach for a "b y o b" and a "jim jones punch" party.. the aim was to get fubar

I purposely avoided this thread for the past few days, thinking that it just would be a total rehash and also because I wanted to avoid more Ruby grief than I had already. Her message so soon after the debacle sort of ruined me for a moment. What was impressive when I did finally relent and read the thread was that I saw in some cases the debate and communication went deeper than it had been, a few especially well thought out posts, most of the dialogue was free of personal attacks, and people were occasionally gently confronted about their mistakes which they then accepted. Am I in a dream :p ?

Look, she shouldn't have been out at 4:30 AM. But she was stopped for nothing more than being out at that time. If it doesn't get leaked to the media, she's still on the team today.

Just because you seem to think she doesn't bear much responsibility doesn't mean everyone feels this way. It's part of the reason there are so many problems from young people. She was already on thin ice. It is unfortunate because she could've really helped the team this year. She needs to learn. We need to expect better of a Lady Vol and the university acted. For that I'm glad. Hopefully she'll get her life together.

Also Im not sure why we’re reflexively calling the cop who said she was driving erratically a liar. Might he have saved Ruby or some innocent person a far worse outcome?

Got some long time friends. We get together occasionally and fire one up, pass it around. Relive the good old days. Responsibly. No driving. Wife grew up out west. Attended Woodstock West (San Francisco) with friends. Got there in a Volkswagen van believe it or not. People might be surprised how many senior citizens partake. I realize Coach Caldwell got boxed in and had to respond the way she did. Just sorry Ruby ended up getting tossed over such a really piddling offense.

I didn’t call the cop a liar. I noted that the cop used something as basis for a stop, then chose not to charge what the basis for the stop supposedly was.

Again, in working in the legal clinic in law school, we saw these cases all the time, and most of them ended up dismissed because the basis for the stop was shown to be false based on the dash cam video. Perhaps it’s gotten better since then. My guess would be, it has not.

Because I think the situation was bogus and someone lost part of her basketball career over something bogus. She shouldn’t have been out at 4 AM. If she was not at 4 AM, this never would’ve happened. That said, I’m very disappointed in the situation and how it was handled by all parties.

And she certainly paid a price for a misdemeanor offense. She was not charged with reckless driving nor DUI. Do you think she should/would have been dismissed had it been a misdemeanor level speeding ticket? I understand both sides of the discussion and agree she should have been more cognizant of her situation and exercised extreme caution in her activities. Sad it turned out the way it did for her. Wish her the best.
