I agree that it will never happen. However, the amount of dumb I’ve seen on the internet recently, specifically to young people, leads me to believe that their ignorance is off the charts and I don’t really know what to believe anymore .

That's fair. But I also think there are many influencers invested in showing you the "dumbest" young people, probably out of context, and acting like that applies to everyone. "LOOK HOW CRAZY THOSE WITH DIFFERENT BELIEFS ARE" is everywhere now, fueled in part by LibsOfTikTok

About the level of English I would expect from someone who likes right wing Twitter influencers, but yes almost everything from the LibsOfTikTok/Gunther Eagleman/Jack Posobiec types is somehow misleading.

Someone in this very thread in the last 24 hours posted a "video of a Muslim" purportedly after Mamdani's win, except that the video was 2 years old

It happens a lot more from the right, those accounts have a lot more reach than any left equivalent of LibsOfTikTok or whatever. The right keeps acting like anyone who isn't a white Christian is less of an American, so spare me the lecture on superiority

Yes, we should have all voted for the other liars, the people that murdered Americans, the people that committed treason against a Presidential candidate, Presidential-elect, and President, the people that setup a sting where the FBI worked with Congress to put people in prison, the people that used all this false material to impeach a President than went on to attempt to destroy their paper trail, the people that worked with foreign governments and agents to overthrow the political process here, the people that admitted multiple times live on TV to committing serious crimes, etc.

The thing with the perception of the media is that it's too complicated for people who need to live in a black and white world. They have to simplify it and never give up on that simplified notion.

- Yes, the members of the media are generally more left on the political spectrum than the average Republican. However, it's probably also true that the members of the media are generally more right than the average Democrat.
- The idea that there is a sinister, top-down left wing control of the news doesn't jive with reality, as you mention with who is actually in charge right now. I believe there is top-down control, but it's all for the sake of $. It's not for party or principles, which are secondary. For example, Murdoch is the Fox News guy who is also the guy getting sued for the Epstein letter. Another example, people on CNN expressing condolences for a guy (Cheney) they were calling a war criminal when he had power.

And I can't believe we got Trump taking payoffs* from the media in broad daylight, and people still have 2015 attitudes about the media.

*Not one. Not just two.
