If We Beat Florida & Go 9-3 Is The Season Still Acceptable?

They are dropping like flies. Literally the worst Florida team we will play this century. In the swamp.

It can’t be worse than that one that beat us something like 10-9. Or how about the one that lost to GA Southern? Those might be the same team but I don’t think that was the same year.

I get that. But the running game is much worse than we anticipated. And the defense is a lot worse, at least partially due to injury.
We should have a much better RB platoon at this point. We are very fortunate a guy of Bishop’s quality fell in our laps or it would be even worse. Also, the rotation is completely insane. I don’t know why we even consider going with Peyton Lewis in crunch time.

I think 10-9 was 2013 when Muschamp talked his smack in the post game interview.

That was the most brutal loss I remember down there. I believe that’s the game Peterman briefly appeared in. I’ve never seen a QB lose yards on every play but he did. Seems like it cost us a FG too but I might be wrong about that last part. I’ve tried to block it out.

The day our fan base becomes unhappy with 9-10 win seasons is the day we will not be able to get a top level coach. Now having said that, you do have to get to the playoffs every couple of seasons and have some success there but if your winning 9-10 games a yr that should not be hard.

Sorry that was 2014. The problem with that result was Worley literally went into Athens the week before and lit Georgia up in a 35-32 loss only to follow it up with a 9-0 lead that we gave away.

Is it a success? You need to compare with something in order to answer that question. Some compare with the goal of winning the SEC championship and making the playoffs, in that case no. Others compare with the current Tennessee standard which is simply making a bowl game, in that case yes. I personally want to have a number of high profile games during the season to watch where we have a chance to win. That has not been the case until JH got here. From that perspective it has been a good season even though we did not win any of the big games. I'm in it for the entertainment value.

So basically when any team has no chance to make the playoffs they should just quit playing, don't show up - don't participate.

That means, UT just needs to cancel the last three games and award us ties for two of the games and a victory to Vandy. But then again Vandy is 16 and needs a lot of help they may not get - so maybe they shouldn't play either - so we just take a 6-3-3 record and be done with it.

Sometimes I long for the day when the playoffs did not exist and teams played for their school and their pride.

That day is long gone. Not just for us, but every school and is very unlikely to ever come back. They can wrap themselves in the school flag but for the top guys now its all:
