OK, please enlighten us on just who that “perfect” coach might be that you can say with 100% certainty will bring us a national championship. You know one that we can realistically hire.

Heupel doesnt need fired but does need to learn from his mistakes, which seems to be evading him for some reason. He still making the same mistakes in year 5 as in years 1-3 and that should be unacceptable by all fans. OU was at least the 3rd or 4th time we've had playoff implications on the line, or actual playoff games, and his teams have come out flat. SC, GA (when we were ranked #1, OU Saturday, and Arkansas last year (which we overcame). For some unknown reason, the last two years he has gotten timid during crunch time or just flat out conservative with the lead and seemed to be coaching not to lose instead of putting his foot on their neck.

He does need to address staff changes. Banks has had ONE good def in 5 years. That was the anomaly and not the norm. Special Teams and K have been atrocious last couple years, especially since DWill left. He should be having an open K competition this week/weekend to see if anyone else can do better than Mr. Miss it Wide.

As a fan base, we want to see him acknowledge some of his mistakes and try to remedy them instead of keeping on with the same old plan.

We love Heup and what he has done for our program and wish him the best bc if he succeeds, we succeed. But its not far-fetched to see that to succeed, changes are needed.

I think it would be crazy to fire Heupel also but let's drop this "youngest team" talking point. That's more common than not in the current landscape. There are alot of young teams in the SEC this year. We have the most freshman by a small amount but as a whole a few teams have as many or more underclassmen by the same token. LSU (66% UC), Georgia (64% UC), Florida (66% UC), Auburn (61% UC), Texas (64% UC) all are comparably young to Tennessee (64% UC).755216-4b483ad1ed67dd96152d13986900cdaf.jpg

I have no idea, but one more loss and the negativity train will be running down hill and picking up steam. Hard to stop it from inevitably running off the tracks. I've seen this movie before.

How can you say the team “came out flat”? Hell, they dominated the entire first half in every category except score. Mistakes, such as blocking the wrong guy, missing a Fg, throwing bad passes made the score what it was. The team was very ready to play.

They came out at halftime and regained the lead quickly.

I’m not saying Heupel is perfect, he’s not but to say our team “came out flat” is inaccurate. I agree with changes need to be made & I suspect they will but I doubt a change at DC will be one of them.

Not with a professional AD you haven't.

Danny White isn't going to take the football program he worked hard to pull out a tailspin and start it in another panic dive.

He may make moves I dislike when it comes to money but so far he's made reasonably solid coaching moves for UT and put us in the position to excel in several sports.

I'd prefer to see him not extend Heupel beyond 2030 until we see some consistent improvement toward beating tough SEC competition like GA and Bama who are at the top of the conference. If Heupel can't move in that direction by 2030, he may have peaked as a coach at UT.

This "downhill train" effect was created by a string of mostly terrible ADs and I know it's hard to believe we're past that but we are.

Tennessee wasn’t even a good scrimmage for them. Tenn embarrassed the legacy of the TSIO. Florida won 14 outta 15 and they were as disfunctional as Tennessee vs everyone else. I’m not ready to go back there yet.

It's 2025, there are no more 4-5 year rebuilds. For starters, Coach's wouldn't get that long these days. Secondly, You can completely upgrade a roster in 2 years, maximum.

Yes we have improved, that's not even debatable. But also, Ala and GA aren't going to dominate anymore. They aren't near as dominant as they were even 4 years ago. The whole Dynasty thing is done.

ok, I used the wrong verbage for Saturday, lets say undisciplined, Bc if we had any sort of discipline, we would have been ahead at halftime. The rest of my comment stands tho.

If he doesn't fire the DC, then he will prove he can't recognize what needs changed and act on it. Will be extremely disappointing.

These all or nothing stances are just stupid. I’m out on Heupel. Do I think he should be fired. No. I just mean that I don’t see him making it long term or getting the team to the next level. In other words, if he’s an investment, I’m selling my stock. It’s pretty obvious he isn’t improving as a game manager. It’s obvious his teams will be the most penalized. It’s obvious he won’t use the portal to its full resource. It’s obvious he’s not an elite recruiter and hires coordinators that are not elite recruiters. It’s obvious he only wants his OU friends and family on his offensive staff, and won’t make tough changes.

It’s sad because of how close this team is. This team is 5 to 6 transfers from being 8-1. It’s that plus a handful of self inflicted wounds from being undefeated. It’s also equally close to being 4-5. Further, this in an unusually weak SEC with multiple coaches being fired mid season, two on your schedule. i think many folks see how easy the schedule was this year and what a missed opportunity this was. You shouldn’t be the youngest roster in year 5, especially in light of the transfer portal.

Heupel has every chance to prove me wrong. It’s simply not up to any individual on this page or any other platform.
