The Atlanta Braves

Tbh, my main issue is that it gives the appearance of us just phoning it and going with what is comfortable/easy instead of making the actual best hire...and it took us a month to do that? That is just on top of his record.
Could he succeed? Sure and I certainly hope he does but I simply think its unlikely.

I find it extremely odd that for 8 years every Braves insider or people with Braves connections that are not beat guys was "ownership/McGuirk stay out of everything and let Alex do what he wants" and then that flipped on its head to "No, McGuirk is very, very involved" and somehow, he wanted Weiss. Really odd. Feels like Alex was leaking stuff to avoid blame if it goes poorly.

AA activated my red flag detector when he was EVERYWHERE during the playoff runs but as soon as we started struggling, suddenly he was a ghost. So, him doing that wouldnt surprise me at all.

The narrative flip also began to occur when the playoff disappointments started to rack up, and intensified as the regular season went south this year. Hmm...

One thing I like is that he spent a lot of years playing for Tony LaRussa. I think LaRussa may be the first manager I ever saw looking at a laptop in the dugout.

I get not liking the hire, but honestly, he’s a baseball manager. Be relatable in the clubhouse, have your players backs, consult with people on the lineup and pitching and don’t get caught picking your nose in the dugout.

I just think the clubhouse need a shakeup. A lot of complacency showed the last two years. If we were going on division title #9, I'd get it. But I think the coaching staff got tuned out last year. And I just continue to hate the Braves Way/Cox Connection. It's such a 1980's college football way to run your organization.
