If We Beat Florida & Go 9-3 Is The Season Still Acceptable?

It is tough to reconcile that with Aguilar being 10X better than anyone expected. It’s borderline miraculous.
Exactly this! And the fact that Joey IS way better than anyone expected, it only magnifies the flaws in this team, i.e. poor fundamentals, poor clock management, mistakes, etc. We dont do the little things well, which get you beat when youre not boat racing someone.

H$$!! Yeah! 9-3 would be INCREDIBLE. We lost our QB and most of the D in the off season. Sure we could have beaten GA, AL, or OK but was that realistic? In many ways we’re overachieving. This is a crazy CFB environment. We’re going to get there.

Everyone expecting a five loss season in year 5 typically isn’t evidence that things are going great.
Welcome to the nil era where you can lose the entire WR room to the portal, not to mention the QB, then add a few key injuries and here we are.

Stop with the facts.
The legions of the miserable don’t want to hear that.

We upgraded at both those spots though. Expectations should adjust accordingly.
So we coached up guys nobody knew about and coached up a quarterback. That’s called exceeding expectations. You don’t get to bitch after the fact that they didn’t exceed expectations enough…..well you do, but nobody at the university is thinking the way you are

We got more PT for Matthews and Staley over Squirrel, who wasn’t very good to begin with, and should definitely have been benched with his injured shoulder. We kept Brazell. Our trio is a five star and two four stars. Not sure where you’re getting the idea that they were some hidden secret.

Weird how Joey comes in, gets almost no coaching, and is immediately way better than Milton or Iamaleava who had years of coaching.

BS LMFAO. Heupel worked his ass off getting Joey ready to play.

Don’t recall suggesting otherwise. But relative to everyone else on the roster he has received very little coaching. Other than probably Brazell, he’s our best player.
Yeah he has been for most of the season BUT his rep for tossing some ill advised INTS has reared it's head at some untimely moments too like this past game and on the goal line at Alabama

You clearly missed the meltdown of may.
And you clearly haven’t read anything Swagger has said about the coaching and completely changing his mechanics because of the coaching after getting here.

Yes he has definitely gotten worse throughout the season.

I am stunned to learn a classy guy like Aguilar is complimentary of his current coach.

I don't know that I would describe it as getting worse. It's just who is as a player. Lots of highs and a few lows. The untimeliness of it exacerbates it
Very few lows those first few games of the season. Almost every INT was on the receivers. He had the one really deep throw against UGA, but that was at the end of the half and it that situation didn’t really matter. Also, there was a pretty blatant uncalled PI.

And I’m not entirely sure I agree he’s just a turnover waiting to happen or anything like that. I read somewhere (haven’t researched to verify) that at Appy State he almost never threw an INT when he was leading or tied. A couple of years they were horrible and he was having to try to score 49 a game to win and yeah things got sloppy.

9-3 would be decent but still would be frustrating. We lost two games at home we should have won. No shame in losing to "name brands" Georgia and Oklahoma but the manner in which we blew both those games is difficult to digest. We have yet to beat anyone who is any good, Florida just fired their coach and have been average for several years so no accolades for beating them on the road. Vandy, doesn't matter what their record is...it's still Vandy and any loss to them under any circumstances is really inexcusable.

If we beat Florida and Bama every year, but lose the other 10, that’s acceptable to me lol. 9-3 if fine.

I get that. But the running game is much worse than we anticipated. And the defense is a lot worse, at least partially due to injury.
